HERRÄNG DANCE CAMP 2007 IN DANGER

Politicians want to shut down the school in HERRÄNG
This would be devastating for the village and the camp during summer 2007.
It will not affect the summer to come but the future!
Please write to the politician’s email-addresses below and describe what Herräng Dance Camp means to you.
The decision will be taken on February 13th, so please email them before this date:

Fayard Nicholas, who with his brother Harold wowed the tap dancing world with their astonishing athleticism and inspired generations of dancers, from Fred Astaire to Savion Glover, has died. He was 91.

Nicholas died Tuesday at his home from pneumonia and other complications of a stroke, his son Tony Nicholas said.

"My dad put Heaven on hold and now they can begin the show," the younger Nicholas said Wednesday.

Lindy Rueda workshop: 7:15 - 8:30
"This is an awesome group dance that uses 8 count lindy basic moves to pass the ladies around from partner to partner as one lead couple calls the moves. It's great fun and very social! (we're asking that everyone participating know their 8 count swingouts and cirlces) It's gonna be fun!"
cost:$22/$20 students (includes the dance)

Beginner Swing Class: 8:30 - 9:00
cost:$15/13 for the whole night (includes the dance)

TODAY - Saturday - January 21st from 12:30pm-3:30pm. DJ Mel will be spinnin' the tunes out in the fresh open air..

This Fri. Jan. 20th, CafeSavoy.com proudly presents the Grand Opening of its newest ALL AGES swing dance venue, THE JITTERBOX. At the new Jitterbox, we only play swing, jazz and blues music recorded before 1950 featuring nationally recognized swing DJ/dancer Giselle Anguizola (pictured below) & her friends.

Giselle Anguizola is a student and preservationist of classic Jazz. Her research has focused on the roots of Jazz music through the swing era. As a dancer, she has a thorough knowledge of what Lindy Hoppers enjoy dancing to; and yet, as a DJ. She has traveled to numerous Jazz festivals and has DJed at some of the world's largest Lindy exchanges, camps, and events.

This Friday, Giselle is joined by fellow DJs George Moynier, Nate Sartain and Tertia Miyashiro. Giselle and George will be spinning some...
