We're looking for a few good men

San Diego’s longest running swing performance ensemble, the Radioland Rugcutters, is holding open auditions for 2-3 male leaders. The Rugcutters have performed at over 100 venues over the past 5 years for thousands of people. Ideally, applicants should meet the following criteria:

1. Have a positive attitude and work well with others
2. Have reasonable athletic endurance
3. Learn choreography quickly
4. Have several years experience with Lindy Hop
5. Have extended knowledge of Balboa, Shag or 1920s Charleston
6. Experience with aerials preferred.
7. Be available for practice EVERY Monday from 7:30-9:30pm

Swing Dancing on Channel 933!

Hey all! AJ's Playhouse on Channel 933 is doing a spoof of Dancing with the Stars. They call it "Dancing with the Playhouse". AJ, Jesse, Hula and Nina are all competing against each other...one being voted off each week...until the winner is revealed. The first week they chose SWING!!

Meeshi and I taught them a 1 minute routine, and they only had one hour to learn it. Then, they took turns recording it secretly so they couldn't see each other's performances. All four videos will be online at http://playhouse.clearchannel.com/main.html between 8:00am - 9:00am on Thursday morning so viewers can vote for their favorite.

Please listen to 93.3 an check out the website to vote for your favorite tomorrow morning at 8am! This is a great opportunity for Swing to get into the mainstream again. They are also going to advertise the "Living Legends of Swing" workshop weekend!

It's also The Fremont's CD release party of "Mighty Crazy". Only 5$ Cover. 9:00-1:00. Tio Leo's is located at 5302 Napa Street (corner of Morena and Napa).

Hey everyone!

My B-day was on the 4th, and I'm new to my place...

So, let's have a party to warm it up & also celebrate my birthday!! I'm thinking byob, and your fav. cd's & we'll have a blast!! I don't have many bowls, so bringing munchies would be great, but best have something to hold them in. I'll provide some drinks & munchies too!

date: Saturday, January 21st, 8 or 9-ish... I've got a big backyard too, so I'll probably have a few blankets out or you can bring one to chill out there... or you can stay inside... with my wood floors...

Location: 1822 Adams Ave. San Diego 92116. Across the street from Lancers bar, and close to Park blvd.- 3 apts. from the corner. I'm on the bottom floor.
