The Firehouse is back in La Jolla (finally)!

Happy 2006 to all!

After a month of venue hopping, the Firehouse happily returns to La Jolla for good (well, at least, until the next SD Junior Theatre play in March). And to celebrate the New Year and being back in La Jolla, we are offering a special new deal for all those interested in attending the Firehouse swing classes. Starting this Thurs. Jan. 5th, ALL Firehouse swing students will gain FREE admission to the Firehouse dance! That's right, you will now get to attend a great 1-hour Lindy lesson PLUS gain FREE entrance to our popular Firehouse dance -- ALL FOR ONLY $12. But, wait, it gets better...receive 6-weeks of super swing instruction plus the FREE dances for only $60 ($50 for students under 21).

Int. dancers -- Looking to review your basics or pick up some cool new moves. Attend both classes...

Well - I posted in the recurring section, but i realised nothing I've ever done was regular or recurring! So I will re-submit here...

Tio's has shown an interest in having us play a weekend show. It has been a long while since we played Tio's. If you are interested in seeing the band...let me know and I will attempt to secure a date.

I am also friends with Steve and Claire of Claire de Lunes. I would love to do a show in that lower joint. Does anyone know what the accoustics are like?

RENDEZVOUS UPDATE

Along with trying to attend as much of RAF as I could, I also processed many of the EARLY BIRD Rendezvous registrations that were due on DEC 31...

230 tickets have already been sold - way over what I anticipated.
120 tickets are left - 60 leader tickets, 60 follower tickets!!!

The Rendezvous will sell out by the end of January Laughing

If you have not purchased your ticket, I highly recommend doing so ASAP. Only 350 tickets will be sold.

See you all in February at the FRANKIE & NORMA weekend.
Our travels begin again as we prepare this week for a month away from home... We'll be teaching at the Paris Bal-Shag Festival, and Camp Lismore in Australia from Jan 11-Feb 4.

The San Diego Vintage Dancers is hosting a "Viennese Night" on 14 Jan 2006 at the Balboa Park Club in Balboa Park, San Diego. This is the building where the evening dances for last year's Balboa Rendezvous was held. There will be a noon workshop to cover couple dancing basics and quadrilles. UPDATE: SATURDAY DANCE 3:00pm - 6:00pm moves to Sunset Ballroom due to rain.. Sunset Ballroom is on Kansas off of University next to Claire de Lune. Cover for dance is still FREE!

Lindy By the Bay is a San Diego staple. Everybody who goes, loves it. It is located on the beautiful Mission Bay at the Hilton San Diego Resort. There is a full bar at the Hyatt.

Hey Kids,

Just wanted to let you all know that we will be at Tio Leos this New Years Eve for all of you dancing enjoyment. Advanced sales tickets are available now at Tio's, or from any band member you happen to run into. Tickets are $25.00 each and include half price appetizers, midnight champagne and all the dancing you can stand. The price will be $35.00 at the door IF the show is not sold out. Tickets are going fast so there is a good chance there won't be any the night of the show. Feel free to email me if you want to purchase a few tickets and we'll figure out a way to get them to ya.

Hey All ~
The holiday rush is now upon us & since there will be no "All Things Swing" dance on Saturday due to Christmas eve, we want to have a small get together at the Portuguese Hall tonight. Here's the skinny:

When: Tonight, Tuesday Dec 13
8:30 back room opens for games/socializing
9:30 Open dancing in main hall until whenever we go home!
Where: Portuguese Hall
What: Dancing get together - holiday cheer
How Much: Free
Who: Everyone
Why: It's the holidays and we want to dance!
Extra info: Please bring something (snack or drink - can be healthy if you want) We'll have minor refreshments to get the tables started.
