1) Let's start with the wheather in Sweden: this year we had rain, rain, rain, and rain...
1

but Stockholm is a very nice city anyway: a few sightseeing spots from Stockholm.....
2
3

and with small streets.... (not made for American cars)
4

also there are alot of museums in Stockholm..... from the modern Museum to the childrens museum with Pipi Longstocking....
5
9

and off course the favorite swedish massages.... everywhere (even in the middle of the market place)....
6

a side trip from Swing: Swedish folk dance -it's similar to a mixture of Polka and Walze.
8

...and finally Tony arrived in Stockholm...

3) now we will come to the theme party at the end of the second week: Surrealistic Party
(my comment: I have never seen so many crazy ideas for costums or how to change a house with real grass in the cafe and stockings hanging from the ceiling...)

Welcome by Dali himself:
18

Tony and Isgard getting dressed:
19

Tony from the front....
20
and Tony from the back
21

22

any comments or story telling from other Herrang participants are very welcome at this point- I am just providing some pictures.

6) In our house and the surrounding of Herrang (sometimes there must be time to get away from dancing)....

relaxing lake behind the dancefloor: a good getaway or dating point???
44

wild flowers in Sweden
45

Herrang Marina (boattrips are available on free time, but almost everyone was asleep on any free time we had..)
46

accept myself: I had to go on a boattrip to the outer Archipelago islands
47

53

3-4 Languages are floating around in the car....

finally we looked at some graves of Swedish kings... the story is kind of cruel behind the funeral and the grass hills. (if you are interested you can ask Amy, I'm sure she would love to tell you more details...)
61
62

Uppsala Cathedral in the sunset at 11:00 pm
63

Great pics Isgard! Wow, what a small lindy world - that guy Bjorn was in my classes at Beantown (or was it Ensenada?) - very sweet, gentle guy.

Well, Michael, You know about our blues dancing, some things should not be captured in pictures.....
though, I have to admit it's kind of wired when the sun is shining at 2:30 am to dance sexy blues......

But you might have to come with us next year to see (and feel) yourself...

Thanks for putting those up, Isgard. You San Diego types were the best roomies! Once I get mine scanned, I'll add mine to the pot.

Hope to see you all at Chicago/Austin/SONW

hey Michael:
I scanned the videos we made in Herrang yesterday: actually Tony videotapes some of the beginning blues dancing. I guess we have to set up a Herrang video watching evening for everyone who is interested in seeing more.....
