Here it is: I am trying to get some of our crazy pics from Herrang in the internet. If someone wants to go next year with us, contact me. I may have the house again..... it's July 2001 and remember: no sleeping in Sweden!!!!! Isgard |
| |
1) Let's start with the wheather in Sweden: this year we had rain, rain, rain, and rain... but Stockholm is a very nice city anyway: a few sightseeing spots from Stockholm..... and with small streets.... (not made for American cars) ![]() |
| |
also there are alot of museums in Stockholm..... from the modern Museum to the childrens museum with Pipi Longstocking.... and off course the favorite swedish massages.... everywhere (even in the middle of the market place).... a side trip from Swing: Swedish folk dance -it's similar to a mixture of Polka and Walze. ...and finally Tony arrived in Stockholm... ![]() |
| |
2) Arriving in Herrang: we could find an overview how international the camp was.... all over Europe and the States..... ![]() |
| |
then the chaotic Welcome with housing in the gym: San Diegans arrived in Herrang off course not without loosing luggage: Valery has to create new costums for the Las Vegas theme party...(shake it, Baby) more smiling faces on the "Dance Bannang": Ben and Valery ![]() |
| |
during classes in the gym: Mark, Amy and Isgard why are we doing this? Herrang is soooooo exhausting...... ![]() |
| |
3) now we will come to the theme party at the end of the second week: Surrealistic Party (my comment: I have never seen so many crazy ideas for costums or how to change a house with real grass in the cafe and stockings hanging from the ceiling...) Welcome by Dali himself: Tony and Isgard getting dressed: Tony from the front.... and Tony from the back any comments or story telling from other Herrang participants are very welcome at this point- I am just providing some pictures. |
| |
Dali live Party impressions.... ...this are the hanging stockings, I mentioned earlier..... and watches everywhere... ![]() |
| |
costumes impressions: Viola upside down??? only disadvantage, they can't see where they are going. more strange looking dancers at the party this is it: the very best costum of the party!!!! ![]() |
| |
4) Houseparty in our favorite San Diego house before the Blues night in the 3rd week of the camp.... here is Liz in action... |
| |
...and everyone in the camp knew: "Tony knows how to please a woman...." also other guys are enjoying the camp.... e.g. Kevin and his girls.... ![]() |
| |
the houseparty foto team.... Amy, Carolyn and Isgard and Liz with our hostfamily ![]() |
| |
5) Theme Party at the end of the 3rd week: Heaven and Hell....... girls are getting ready... heaven and hell chicks... Liz is coming directly from hell....... heaven and hell in action.... and finally a smile directly from Heaven..... Amy and Simon Selmon ![]() |
| |
6) In our house and the surrounding of Herrang (sometimes there must be time to get away from dancing).... relaxing lake behind the dancefloor: a good getaway or dating point??? wild flowers in Sweden Herrang Marina (boattrips are available on free time, but almost everyone was asleep on any free time we had..) accept myself: I had to go on a boattrip to the outer Archipelago islands and that are the garages in Sweden... ![]() |
| |
in our house the fridge was very important: our hosts provided us with freshly baked bread and delicious joghurt of any and every kind..... and that was Misha's favorite spot in the house... ![]() |
| |
7) at the end of our trip our very nice Swedish friend Bjorn took us crazy tourists on a little country sightseeing tour.... it was alot of fun... Amy and Bjorn dancing everywhere Sankt Barbara from Europe (I think Amy can explain that better) Tony and Isgard in the countryside, we were great roommates.... thanks tony. 3-4 Languages are floating around in the car.... Lunch in Sigtuma, one of the oldest towns in Sweden.... ![]() |
| |
after having eaten, we can go on our Sigtuma sightseeing tour old cafe from 1100, nothing is perpendicular.... all walls are crucked... Runen tell the stories of the people everywhere along the way. and finally we come to and old ruin from the about 1000 years ago... I was feeling like the camera team.. ![]() |
| |
finally we looked at some graves of Swedish kings... the story is kind of cruel behind the funeral and the grass hills. (if you are interested you can ask Amy, I'm sure she would love to tell you more details...) Uppsala Cathedral in the sunset at 11:00 pm and more Runen in Uppsala... ![]() |
| |
Thanks so much for all the pictures Isgard. I especially liked the ones from the "sureal party". |

Great pics Isgard! Wow, what a small lindy world - that guy Bjorn was in my classes at Beantown (or was it Ensenada?) - very sweet, gentle guy. |
| |
Fantastic photos Isgard! I wish I had been able to go as well. Thank you for taking the time to upload and share them with us. |

Isgard!! I started crying right here in the public library! Oh, the memories. Thank you so much for putting these up, they were wonderful! Yes, folks, you MUST come to Sweden next summer. What a wonderful experience. |
| |
Wonderful pictures! Great narration as well. But what I really want to see: pix of the Blues Dancing =) |
| |
She probably tried, but the camera lens kept steaming up.... |
| |
Well, Michael, You know about our blues dancing, some things should not be captured in pictures..... though, I have to admit it's kind of wired when the sun is shining at 2:30 am to dance sexy blues...... But you might have to come with us next year to see (and feel) yourself... isgard |
| |
"...to see (and feel) yourself." *blush* Is that how foreign affairs began? |
| |
Thanks for putting those up, Isgard. You San Diego types were the best roomies! Once I get mine scanned, I'll add mine to the pot. Hope to see you all at Chicago/Austin/SONW Shanabanana |
| |
Hi Shana! How the heck are you? I have some great pictures of you. How's the new job? I'm really glad that you posted!! See you soon! Amy |
| |
hey Michael: I scanned the videos we made in Herrang yesterday: actually Tony videotapes some of the beginning blues dancing. I guess we have to set up a Herrang video watching evening for everyone who is interested in seeing more..... isgard |
