Why isn't dancing at a street fair a lindy bomb? From HopM's post "spontaneous Lindy in places not normally associated with swing dancing".

You idiots. You bunch of idiots. I have never posted annonymously and never will. "Adminorama" knows who posts annonymously and he knows it aint me. If I wanted to speak my opinion on how tasteless and, well...scary those pictures are, I would have, without being annonymous. I dont need to explain myself though and I dont need to even be typing this, but I felt some clarification was needed.

I came late to the Rocket but saw the video of the "Cabaret Night" show. For me it showed that there are four women and a guy who are willing to put themselves out there, entertain and spread "Lindy Luv". For many, it is very difficult to get up in front of people, much less perform. Personally, I have a lot of respect for those who do and very little for those who do nothing but expose their virulent nature. Hopefully, in the future, more of us will be willing to share themselves in a healthy manner.

In the meantime, one way to spread "Lindy Luv" and have fun, would be to participate in the "Rocket Bomb". Check out the 8 pm meeting at the Rocket, this Tuesday.

In my life, as on the dance floor, I'm open to suggestions on how to improve.
In both, I know there's TONS of room for improvement. As a Christian, I KNOW
I'm not perfect. That's why I am one. I feel that I need God to "save" me. I need
brothers like Gabe to come up to me and encourage me to be a better example. I
need help. I know it. In fact, I took a break from music at Church to take some
time to reflect and get grounded again. But on Nov 12th I'm going to start again.
So, Jake,if you'd like to share with me your thoughts on how I need to improve,
please email me directly (just click on my name) and I'll consider everything you
have to say.

Sorry, Krista. I'll stop now.

how has this thread gone from bagging on gross pictures, to bagging on me for those posts, to confession? im not gonna tell you what to improve on, I have no idea. isnt that between you and the Big Guy upstairs?

take a chill pill.

Im sure there will be plenty of "pats on the backs" and "oh, we're gonna be buddies, real pals, amigos!" at the rocket tomorrow night. Im just going for one reason, and if she aint there, I will make damn well sure that Im outy 5000 before the back patting patrol can give me the thumbs up. I do not agree with, understand, or even sympathyze with most dancers in san diego, nor do I really care to. For the most part, we do not listen to/like the same things, share the same opinions, etc., so it is pointless to say "lets all be buddies!" and dance the same freeking dance of ring around the posey in happy-happy land.
You all have a GOD. SHE is MARGARET. Go to her and be nurtured. Heed her voice, answer her calling, drink the grape soda and go to hell. dance when she says dance and bomb when she says bomb, you crazy bitches!!!!!!
You all have a prophet. he is RON. nuff said.

Ron, you dont care about san diegan dancers, you're main concern is licking ass hole.

so why do you post? do you post because you dont have to be near the person to lick their bung, you can just point, type and click away to get the bung job done? That's as good a reason as any I imagine.

Adminorama (Adminorama), I think I care the least what catagory you fall into. You're not even worth making fun of. (But I'll give it a shot)
If there was an award for whitest "dancer" of the month, it would be a toss up between you and ronnie. If the two of you were any whiter you'd have to go to a tanning booth just to pass for albino. The whitness of your style probably surpasses even the whitness of margarets ass. ronnie would know. isnt that where he keeps his nose burried?

Hehehehe, if beer helps white guys dance, san diego needs an endless kegger. ronnie and adminormidgetdickweed would need an i.v. of ale.

Jake, Jake, Jake. I'm quite confused as to your repititious slander of other people's dance style or appearance. I think it speaks volumes of your immaturity. You don't see other good dancers who you look up to dissing other people's dance style. Every good dancer can learn from another good dancer, unless one is too arrogant. I guess the fact that several San Diego dancers placed well in the recenty ALHC speaks loudly that San Diego has some great dancers.

Everyone dances their own way, thank goodness. Perhaps it's because you suffer from your own dance insecurity, that you put down the dancers in San Diego because most of us dance "Lazy Hop." And if that wasn't bad enough, you even put down most of LA's dancers, because they dance the sytle you detest, the "Hollywood" style. So I guess you are the only dancer who who can claim to dance correctly. Care to enlighten any of us with a lesson on how to dance the "real" way.

Ron and Shawn dance like they are white? Yup, they happen to be white. I can only think of Mo from OC as a somewhat local dancer who is a good dancer and dances with expressive Black energy.

I've yet to see you go on Reuben's site and put down other OC dj's, like Neil, who spin the same music Ron occasionally spins which you seem to detest. Why is that? BTW, I also don't care for Ron's taste when he occasinally spins on Thurs nite at the Firehouse, so I stay home instead. (Reuben spins a lot more salsa and funny 70's tunes then Ron or any San Diego dj ever has). I can't even remember the last time I actually saw you ask someone new to dance in this town either. Too good for all of us? If so, then why bother even dancing down here at all? As to your constant attack that we are all brown-nosing Margaret, lay off of it already dude. If you don't have the balls to say that to our faces, then don't go on this forum and claim otherwise. But claiming that all San Diego dancers are zombies is quite an attack on a lot of good people in the scene.

You are actually a fun guy to hang out with. I invited you to several of my parties, and in person you are very funny and likeable. But your constant venomous attacks on this San Diego forum, is quite immature. If all you got is hot air, blow it somewhere else, but keep your humor flowing in person and on the dance floor, where you rule as a mad-man.

Not sure why you make fun of Jeff being a Christian, since I used to see you attending his Church. In fact I admired you and your affect on your dancer friends, since you used to bring your friends with you to Church. I know of one dancer who credits you with her becoming a Christian, but I guess you're pretty embarassed about all that now.

Just one last thing for you Jake, grow up.

"Reuben spins a lot more salsa and funny 70's tunes then Ron or any San Diego dj ever has"

I hope your saying this as a joke, because I have only spun 2 salsa tunes in my entire life (one for a funny "Best Salsa Impersonation" contest, and one BBVD one when I was spinning the worst music possible, on purpose, this Saturday night.)

As for 70's tunes, these are all clearly for end of night DJ challanges.

jessica- Id be glad to assist you. im an ass on the forum (just about every forum) because i dont care. i like being a wise ass i guess. see, half of what i say, i really believe....well, more like 30 percent. the rest is just jargon that makes me come accross like a big dick with no clue. its like how sometimes i type using capitol letters, but sometimes i dont. sometimes i spell things right and sometimes im like "screw it.". i leave it to the people reading the threads to make the descision on what is exadurated poo and what are my true feelings. its not that hard if you know me in person...but then again, many people get the idea in their head that saying hi to me at a club or talking a little automatically gives them a clue as to whats going on inside my head, when in fact they couldnt be any farther from the truth. im too random damnit. you're thinking "chicago" and im thinking "clowns with steak knives". for a deeper explanation of what i mean, speak to those who know me better (krista, lisa, dennis).
my reputation on swingoramitupyourass was bad from the begining. no, i do not like some people in this city. but i seem to get along with them regardless of what happens on or off the forum. san diego is just too damn nice. maybe im here to be the protagonist. im one of the youngest posters too, so maybe its youthful angst. and all that rage against the machine i put into my head.
other than that...beats me.

p.s. gabe, your post was stupid, but i understand where you might be comming from. i tried to answer it, honestly, but i didnt really want to waste my precious time. maybe its best to talk in person...yeah.

Reuben, that's what I find fun about Memories. You dj's have fun and mix it up, play funny songs/themes here and there late at nite, mainly since the place is more like a intimate club where a few friends hang out and goof off. I agree with you, that for swing dancing, swing music is best, and hit all the tempos, from blazing fast, to lurching slow.

Jake, thanks for attempting to see where my post is coming from. I don't think you really look down on other dancers, and people with other musical tastes, but using insults to express yourself isn't always the best or funniest medium.

We all know you are just a budding alexander poe, looking through Andy Warhol glasses, while listening to too much Danny Elfman.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Blackrider (Blackrider) on Wednesday, November 01, 2000 - 02:10 am: Edit

im a little effeminate? umm...gross dude. my door dont swing that way. but i am in touch with my sensitive side. and my sadistic side. and my obsesive compulsive side. and my schytzophrenetic-eclectic side. and my eating disorders and my burning sensation when i pee after swimming in a pool with too much chlorine side. im in touch with all sides...yeah.

gabe-i really do. i dont look down on anybody in our scene, regardless of popular opinion. i tell the truth about certain people that others would rather not know about or just plain dont want others to know about. i dont judge them or go out of my way to find things to hold against them. i just state the facts and my opinion (mixed with slander often) and it seems to set off shit from there. and there's no way in hell i would ever appologize for that or expect anyone to agree with me.
as for bad dancing...hell that's everywhere. i tell one of my best friends lance that he couldnt dance his way out of a paper bag, and he knows it, but its all good. its about having fun, not impressing others or showboating. i dont like showboaters who need to be a "somebody" in this small scene. and when i see it i just asume rant and rave like a lunatic rather than be an asslicker. that's just my own way of thinking though. some people like to lick ass.

p.s. i may have spun something that ronnie owns/plays, but so what? i know for a fact that everything i play is kick ass hot jazz/swing music that isnt for everybody (squares). Whether its a slow ass song or a haul ass song, its always a bad ass song. it might not be everyones (the square community) taste, but whoooooooooo cares.

So are you apologizing for the filth he spews out about virtually everyone on this forum? So is it OK for everyone to start talking shit about you again? You apologize for him, when its people like him that give your "clique" a bad name. Shawn apologizes for him, because he makes a funny crack occasionally, amidst his spewings. Meeshi apologizes for him because he thinks he's nice in person. Wake up people. How you come across on the forum is a definite reflection of your personality. dude, is someone relating me to DAN??! Dan the MAN??! sic

anyways, ronnie....you could be the antichrist.
this aggression will not stand...man. I think its great how you cant take it but you sure can dish it out, you little bunglips, you.

basically ronnie, what you're saying is that I am the number one ass hole (i.e. I am the assman), and everything i say on swingalingadingdong is the proof in the pudding.
that's funny. Ha-ha. laughable man.

i cant believe this is even a topic of discussion. i mean it's cool and all, im really flattered, but its kinda strange. like, arent there bigger fish to fry? better farts to let?
Im not worth all that time and effort you take in bringing me down, ronnie. i mean, from your posts, you sound serious. like serious as in I am the worst thing to happen to san diego since trader jack. that's rad. im basking in fame.
for my next feet i will attempt to jurinate on the steps of the hall of justice, pour dish soap in at least twelve fountains downtown, and enter another contest and win doing the hustle.

chaos rules.

p.s. something weird occured to me last night...our scene is nice. ok. but anyone ever stop to think that it might be *too* nice? like, nice as in norman bates nice? nice as in "I have dead bodies hidden in my basement and if you scream I will choke you to death with a guitar string" nice? hmmmm....wooooa....hm, yeah. whoa.

hahaha, I wonder if I taught in san diego for 20 years prior to the swing dance craze and established a "good"reputation with a cul-I mean, following, I would be held with such low regard. if not, that would be a little scary. maybe even scarier than the scene is now. picture a bunch of little bad ass saying jake's running around with doped out ideas on crack-whores and bunglickers. duuuuude...
scare all you ass humpers back to the disco scene it would.
