Hi all I'm new to the dance scene, but I've been reading swingorama for a while and really enjoy the music. I'm thinking of trying out the swing mixer on Saturday, however, I'd be coming alone!! Female only....pretty scarey for me. Anyone want to buddy up with me, and not make it so scarey? I could meet you prior to the dance. I'm going to go to the beginners class at 8:15. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks Everyone Deborah |

Hi Deborah, I'd like to offer my services. I've been dancing for about 5 months now, but did the whole, female turning up alone thing, and yes it is scary. Everybody I've met has been really, really freindly, but it's still a daunting proposition in the beginning. I've *just* started learning how to lead (the guy's part), so I could do the lesson too. Do you want to meet in front of the dance studio beforehand? E-mail me at NatalieR@actionio.com and we can sort something out :-) Nat |

Is Meeshi really calling it a "Swing Mixer?" |
| |
Yeah, but don't get your hopes up, you aren't invited. |
| |
I wouldn't have gone anyway. This is just further proof the guy is gay. Maybe this will be his coming out party... finally. It makes perfect sense, he is too nice to be straight. |

Aside from obnoxious comments on our bbs, we're a pretty nice group of people and are happy to welcome newcomers. We try really hard to make people feel at home. That's not to say you shouldn't meet up with people first, but don't feel too uptight about coming by yourself! |
| |
Meeshi seems like a flaming heterosexual to me. He's just in keen touch with his feminine side. All of you guys should try it too - I bet you'd like it. Hmm, I should try it too. I just wanna shake my ass like Meeshi... |
| |
I've tried it - and I like it! Shake those hips! I was told that I moved my skirt very well although I did make "one ugly b*tch!" =) |
| |
I'm afraid I take Laurel's point of view on this one, especially the booty shaking. Maybe that's why more girls then guys are coming into the scene! |
| |
Arthur, honey, I thought you looked adooooorable in that outfit - very tasty! ;) |
| |
Thank you, Twirly dear. |
| |
I think it was, the moves, more than the outfit, that caught most peoples attention, c.f. my comments at the Yehoodi meal |
| |
Arthur and Twirly, take it outside - you're making me vomit! I personally thought Arthur looked like Carol Channing. |
| |
Oh, go eat some chocolate! :) |
| |
Don't be jealous. =) And another thing - could Carol Channing move her hips like mine? I think not! ^_^ |
| |
Arrgh! Now PDA on the internet!! |
| |
Okay, any excuse to eat chocolate! I'll try to keep from hurling it - hee hee. You know I love you guys. |
| |
Arthur, now that he's dating a San-Diegan, becomes a virtual San Diegan by becomming a regular poster on our forum... |
| |
and...? ;) |
| |
... and welcome, PDAs and all! |
| |
Why... thank you! Thank you very much! (in an Elvis-type voice) ^_^ I'd like to thank my manager, my parents, and all the little people I stepped on to get here. =) |
| |
Can someone enlighted a somewhat dense Nat as to what a PDA might be? |
| |
Public Display of Affection |
| |
Oh, it doesn't mean "Personal Digital Assistant"? =) BTW, welcome Deborah! Save me a dance when I'm actually in town! ;) |
| |
Yes, welcome Deborah! If you want to meet some of the usual suspects on these boards, check out the Firehouse on Thursdays in Hillcrest. I think you'll find it a friendly and welcoming place! |
| |
Oh yeah, that's another thing... I like Meeshi's city choice for holding a swing venue. The proof is all over the place! hee, hee. |
| |
Thank's James |
| |
Rueben... you seem a little infatuated with Meeshi as of late. A little harmless flirtation, perhaps? finally coming out of the closet? homelife not so fullfilling? ps Hillcrest is not a town or city, it's an area. plus, we can give you tips on where to go when you finally come out of the closet. ~8^) |
| |
Dude... I've been out of the closet for a long time, what are you talking about? I'm so infatuated with Meeshi because as soon as he comes out too, I'm going to ask him out. |

OK. Lots of beginners, which is a good thing, really. There was ice-cream and cookies. |
