Amy wanted to post this thread: Well, everyone, we're getting close to the day of the baseball game! I can't wait. I think that this Friday will be the last day that I'll take reservations for tickets. Remember, the game will be on Saturday, May 27 at 7:05. We will tailgate beforehand, but plans for that will be forthcoming. I already have the following people on the list for reserved tickets: Valorie (1) Mark (4) Jeff (4) Kendra (1) Laurel (2) Marcus (1) Ron (1) Mike H. (1) Jennifer (1) Please let me know if you want tickets, and how many. Also, I had several suggestions to post this info on the forum, but I didn't know how to start a new thread, and I thought it would be weird to just add the info as a regular posting under a different thread. Help! Please forward this e-mail to any one that might be interested. Thanks! Amy Amy's e-mail is alawrenc@mail.sandi.net |

How'd you do that? Nat- you are the posting goddess! I bow to your glory as a poster! Yes, everyone! Please come to the baseball game with us! It will be lots of fun! Please let me know if you are interested in tickets! Thanks! |

Amy, I'll show you the next time we are at a party and feel the urge to post. Your fellow addict, Nat |

Good to hear we have a large group going! Name for the group? With so many techies in our group, how about Swing.com |
| |
How about something that incorporates both dance and baseball. Unfortunately the only thing I've managed to come up with is: Swing the bat. But I'm others are having a more creative day than I am today. |
| |
I think that Freddie A has played at the clubhouse... |
| |
Extra! Extra! Read all about it! The consensus is in, and although I personally agree with Marcus' choice, the overwhelming majority voted to give Shawn some free advertising and call our group "SwingOrama.com" (if that's okay with you, Shawn!) Most people felt that pragmatism should win over creativity, and that maybe if people see the name of this site on the Jumbotron, it might draw some new blood to the scene--or at least the website. Well, all, I plan to buy the tickets tomorrow, and then we'll start discussing the real issue: tailgating! Have a great weekend! See you all at the PB Blockparty on |
| |
And speaking of the Pacific Beach Block Party on Saturday: Does anyone have any rec's of the bands to dance to? My limited knowledge of local bands pegs Buddy Blue as the top choice, but I'd like to hear from more experienced listeners. Check the website: www.pbblockparty.com |

Oh, and now realizing -- with much red-face -- what swing.com really is, I officially retract my nomination of swing.com. [I tell ya, there ain't a thread of decency in cyberspace that isn't already perverted!] I second the nomination for swingorama.com |

ATTENTION! ATTENTION! We are buying more tickets! This is going to be HUGE! If you were interested in joining us for the baseball game and tailgate on May 27, there is still room! Tickets are $13, and we will be tailgating before the game. That night is also free radio headset give-away night! Come on and join the fun! It's not about the baseball: it's about dancing in the parking lot of the stadium, eating ball park food, drinking (for those of you who drink), and having a good time with other swing dancers. If you are interested in getting tickets, e-mail me at: alawrenc@m ail.sandi.net. Thanks! Amy |

Amy, With all the festivities planned for the tailgate, any word on the start time for our fete? [game begins at 7:05, right?] |
| |
Good question, Michael! First, let me say that there are still tickets available. I may have gotten a little over zealous and ordered a few too many, so please! Encourage more people to go. Now, an answer to your question: If I hear back from the ACE parking representative and they reserve a spot for us, I'll probably get there around 3:00. If I don't hear back from him, I'll probably get there around 2:00 to procure our area. I think that it's a safe bet to plan on coming around 3:30 or 4:00 that afternoon. There will be food, music, dancing, and fun to be had by all, so people should come when they wish. By Friday afternoon I will let every one know where we will be. Just remember to bring sunblock, a beach chair, and a jacket. Also, if you plan to imbibe alcohol, please arrange for a designated driver, or utilize the trolley. Thanks! Amy |

So far, despite repeated attempts at phone calls to the parking mavins at the "Q", I have not heard back from them, so, we'll have to do this ourselves. We are going to attempt to set up our tailgate in the parking lot in section D-1 or C-1, just off of the Mission Village Drive and Friars Road main entrance. If we can't get a good spot there, C-3 is our other option. Fireman Mark is planning to arrive around 2:00 to start setting up and cook. Many people have asked if they can just join us for the tailgate portion, and my answer is "Heck, yea!" If you take the trolley in, there is no entrance fee to the parking lot. We hope to see a bunch of people there! If you have any questions, e-mail me at work at alawrenc@mail.sandi.net. Have a great day! Amy |
