The Lima Bar and Grill has swing on two nights a week now! Bob Gordon on Tuesday nights and Peggy Claire on Sunday night. There is a dance floor that can be cleared if dancers show. I have had a great time dancing there! The Bob Gordon trio is fantastic (and will be playing at Breakaway soon - a real treat for those who haven't heard them yet). Peggy Clair is a great singer and attracts top notch musicians. Here's an email from her: PEGGY CLAIRE I'm singing this week with a group including Bill Hunter on a top-of-the-line Yamaha baby Grand piano and bassist Paul Gormley from Los Angeles and drummer Pete Bogle from Buddy Blue's band. He'll be playing a cool little jazz drum set and lots of brushes (so it won't be too loud!). The band is going to be swinging. You'll find all the information you need about the club (and a picture of me) in the attachment added to this note. This gig is scheduled to go on through July 23. However, Sundays have been dark in this room previous to my gig, so there aren't any regulars. I REALLY need a little help from my friends to keep this thing going!!! Sincerely, Peggy Claire |

Beware though...these are not typical Rat Pack type bands. There's no Sinatra, no Martin... If you like real hot jazz and swing you won't be disappointed! It's all ages, by the way. |

Excellent assessment Lisa. I really enjoy the music and the venue. Perfect for early evening escapism. |
| |
Yep. Perfect for a weeknight! 7-10pm. The restaurant has great food too! |

Lima's B&G is horrible. All they play is old crusty 30's jazz from Shaw to Goodman. Dennis always requests fun neo-swang tunes like 'Zoot Suit Riot', but Bobby just stares at him in cold silence. Oh yeah, Lima's is also open with live jazz bands on Wed and Thurs nite. San Diego is T.E.R.I.F.I.C. |

Smart ass. |
| |
Hey and if you go to Lima's please observe the $10 minimum food purchase per person ya cheap bastids. |
| |
And mind your space. The oldtimers are fragile! |
| |
We know you need your space, Lisa. Quit whining! |
| |
Hey! I'm not that old! |
| |
hahahaha |
| |
How about Glen, do you need your space, you old timer? |
| |
You're one to talk Ian! |
| |
Your older than I am! |
| |
I know. That's why it was said in the first place. |
| |
Don't get me started Ian.... |
| |
Will all you geriatrics calm down.... wake from your narcoleptic fit, lather up in BenGay, swill your Metamucil, lube your hip replacement, and tell me when the HopTheMillenium video is coming out? ~8^) |
| |
Tiger Balm, all the way baby! The video's should be on their way out. |
| |
Get Started... |
| |
SDLHS geriatrics all the way! Hey! |
| |
Hey Ian, No gleeking allowed! It makes the floor to slippery for us geriatrics. |
| |
gleeking? |
| |
Hahaha. |
| |
Ian and his nasty habits... |
| |
I don't gleek, it must be an old person thing to do- hey glen? |
