Back on the subject ....

I just went to the DanceFun Las Vegas Salsa weekend last weekend (June 9-11) along with 2 busloads of salseros. Lots of FREE snacks, beer, wine, soda, and water on the way up (the motorcoach bathroom was always busy) It was a pretty amazing weekend with over 20 instructors, cloths & shoe vendors, orchestra, and very nice accomodations. The temperature in Las Vegas was around 110, so if you visit the pool, you could air-dry after getting out!

The format will be similar with seven sessions of three 1-hour workshops going on at the same time with a 1/2 hour practice time/rest time between.
Fri 05:00-06:30.....session 1.....room 1, 2, & 3
Fri 06:30-08:00.....session 2.....room 1, 2, & 3
Sat 10:00-11:30.....session 3.....room 1, 2, & 3
Sat 11:30-01:00.....session 4.....room 1, 2, & 3
Sat 01:00-02:30.....session 5.....room 1, 2, & 3
Sat 02:30-04:00.....session 6.....room 1, 2, & 3
Sat 04:00-05:00.....session 7.....room 1, 2, & 3
From 5pm-8pm the ballroom was set up for the band.

On Friday and Saturday nights rooms one and two were combined to make a massive room (larger than the size of Champion Ballroom) DJ Music was played both nights until around 4 or 5am (around 3am I turned into a pumpkin so I don't know when it really ended) with a band and a dance performance on Saturday Night.

It is a complete bargain! Check the airflights to Vegas, or the hotel rooms in Vegas, or the cost of seven local workshops. You do the math. The reason they can offer these deep discounts is the numbers that they are able to draw. The Salsa last weekend had over 700 participants, double the amount from last year. There were people from all over: San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, New York, Florida, ect.

I'm looking forward to see how many swing dancers will attend.
