Hi Laurel! Life over here is hot and humid so now I really need to bring a dozen shirts everytime I go dancing. Most of the dancing here happens at a place called 'Swingers'. It is basically a bar where they play swing and latin music. There are very few lindy hoppers though, so sometimes you'll go and find no one to lindy with. Plane tickets to chicago, ny and boston are pretty cheap from here though! |

I'm bummed I missed Steve and Carla's performance at Catalina - we walked in just after they finished. I heard a lot of people say it was the best performance of the weekend (and I thought the Greasey Monkeys and Loose Change were phenomenal) - anyone out there that saw them? |

Hi Luis! Now that you're rich just fly out here and see us a few weekends a month, would ya? I'd definitely love to see Steve and Carla come to San Diego. Meeshi and I both agreed that after seeing their performance in Catalina we had witnessed the best swing dancing we had ever seen...ever. Steve is a great social dancer, too. They've got it all. An Atlanta Lindy Exchange? I might have a hard time convincing people to come to Atlanta. Maybe if I mention that we have 3-1 women/man ratio and out of those 3, 2 are gorgeous and the other one's pretty! That might just convince the guys though. I was shamefully watching the TV show, "Blind Date" and an episode in Atlanta had the couple go to a swing dance club called, "Swingers". They showed some of the dancing.........ow ow ow ow ow...If you thought Minnepolis "Swing Craze": was awful, you should have seen the people in this club. Perhaps they were the worst people out that night. |

mmmm,mmmm,mmmm,mmmm Those Southern women! Luis, I know what you mean - been there! (Not to steal a quote from Kentucky Fried) They're finger . . . I'll stop there. J How are those accents? Everything moves a little slower in the south. Quite different from out here. There is a big swing dance camp there once a year. Marcus and Baerbl go along w/ Sylvia and Jonathan. Have you tried Shag yet? Many, many great looking women there too! If you happen to take shag look up Jackie Mcgee - she's amazing. I think, pretty sure, she teaches there. |

I haven't heard anything about the big camp you're talking about Chris. Marcus and Baerbl were here about a month ago and Sylvia was here a couple of weeks ago but they were more like private workshops. |

Hey Michael, I think it's gonna take probably at least another month :( I need to get rid of the scar tissue and that's taking time. But I *am* planning to go to the Rocket on Tuesday - can't miss the La Jolla Allstars! And seeing as the subject came up, anyone out there had any success treating achilles tendinitis - specifically scar tissue on the tendon? I've met at least one other dancer with the same problem so thought there might be others out there. |
