Deep thoughts for the day: 1. Jim and Margaret run the Rocket in a professional responsible manner that will continue to attract excellent bands to play. 2. Eddie Reed is planning to come back to the Rocket. 3. Volunteer for the Rocket "Lindy Bomb" squad and get free instruction/choreography from Jim and Margaret. 4. It isn't clear how much instruction you need to become a teacher of a particular style, but some have some strong opinions on the matter. 5. We have some strong personalities in San Diego Lindy Hop. Thank goodness. 6. Attend Dean Mora's show at Neimans on the 16th of this month! 7. We've proven Reuben wrong on at least one occasion now. 8. Shut up and dance! PEACE |

So all the posts between #200 and 375 are not available for viewing or am I doing this wrong? |

Shawn, freeze the thread by all means. But if you're going to deny access to it, it would be nice to know why. Great dancing with you last night. Sorry my bablance was off, I think it's cause I was a bit low on the ol' blood sugar. |

It looks like the whole day's thread got axed. But, I did want Chris to get my apology so I'm resending it. Too bad Eddie Reed's post was deleted as well. Here's yesterday's post to Chris from me: Hey Chris, I do want to apologize to you for overreacting to your "wrap up" post. I went a little overboard. I have a lot of respect for you and Shana, and I shouldn't have gotten so "heated up". I should have given you the "benefit of the doubt" more than I did, and not become so defensive. Tonight, I read through everything we discussed since this thread started and I thought that a bunch of excellent points were brought up that I think will ultimately strengthen our community. Again my apologies. I wanted to stand up for Margi a bit, but I certainly didn't want to hurt you either. |

THE THREAD IS AVAILABLE! I did not and will not freeze anything. When a thread has more than 100 messages (and I notice it), I put them in their own folder so load times are better. Just click the link above. When a thread has so many messages, people start emailing me about load times. If you want, I'll rename the thread "Lindy Bomb" and put it back in the events section. Otherwise, just read them above and post here. Simple. I am NOT censoring. |

Oh ok, I'll just move it back. I was just responding ot a complaint. It's got its own header now.... |

I am officially a crack-whore. |
| |
Thanks for sorting out the thread Shawn. I knew you were not one to sensor the word of the people. |
| |
so come move to san diego reuben and live with all the other crack whores...they're sure to take you in. |

I heard a rumor there was a change to the schedule for The Rockets Halloween Night dance... |

Here's an update on the Rocket Club: The Rocket Bomb Squad is now more than an idea. We'll be having open practice/meetings for the first hour of the Rocket every week. **That is from 8-9pm** All are welcome to join us free of cost. We'll be dancing, talking, "plotting," and generally enjoying each other's company. After the meeting, DJ'ed music and open dancing will commence at 9pm. This week, DJ Ron will be providing the dance tunes. An assured good time. See you all there!! |
| |
Today, I'll be DJing at the Rocket again. Hope to see a big crowd there! HopMichael, I made you a CD with "playful" swing songs. Amy, Aletha, and Glenn, if you come, you can pick out your contest prize... Actually, I'm DJing at the Firehouse Thursday, too, so I'll have everything there, too. |
| |
Thanks you, Ron! I'm curious to see what you picked...! =) I'll be there late tonight. Crammin' for his Boards (and wastin' time readin' the Forum), -HopM |

EnglishDan from Dallas (as opposed to DapperDan from Houston, visiting over Halloween) will be at the Rocket tonight. Please be sure to extend a warm San Diego welcome (despite the cruddy weather). And follows, I've heard he's a GREAT lead. Nat |

I had so...much...fun..at the Rocket last night. We had some great dancers that we don't usually see: EnglishDan from Dallas, Scott & Noah. And both a Meeshi-follows and Meeshi-leads dance for Meeshi's birthday. EnglishDan remarked how lucky we were to have such a beautiful venue and great floor. I swear that floor is getting better week by week. |

That would be "kissing Dan" from Dallas. |
