Tami Thomas will be playing March 3, 17, 24, and 31 (most Fridays of the month) at the Lucky Star Restaurant and Dance Hall! According to Tami: Dinner, Drinks and large dance floor. Free parking and great atmosphere. Reservations 619-229-8228. $7 cover. Tami plays the swing classics with as much energy as anybody and loves the dancers. This could be a really fun opportunity for the month! Show up and support LIVE MUSIC in San Diego. Throw in Wonton Soup and you are golden. |

Oh, 3893 54th street (at 54th and University), 9-1am. |
| |
Can us youngins' go too? |
| |
No!! |
| |
:P |
| |
I just called the restaurant and asked if it was all ages. I got a mixed message: First, the fellow said, "No, only over 21." I said, "But isn't this a restaurant?" then he backtracked and said, "If you don't drink, it's OK." For what it's worth, Krista. ? :) ? |

Tami will also be at the Belly UP on March 4th for Happy Hour. This is a VERY important show. The Belly Up is considering cancelling the happy hour shows - this is horrible! If the show confirms, please show up. It's my favorite venue! |
| |
That's always the case!! No one ever has a clue. One less amazing follow for you guys to dance with... HAHAHAHAH!! I kid. Love, Krista |
| |
So, it Looks like El Cajon is the place to be tonight! Lets see, the Lucky Star or the German American club? I vote for the the Lucky Star. Crunchy egg rolls and chinese mustard. Nummm And to warm-up Cajon happy-hour with Sue (Boogie) Palmer. |
| |
I'll be there! I am away for several weekends in March, so I don't want to miss this opportunity. |
| |
They do say ALL AGES as long as you don't drink. |
| |
Yea for all ages places to dance! |
| |
Highly Recommended! What a great dance setup! The floor is quite large. It was sticky, but they spread the magic slippery powder on the floor and it was fine. It appears they are open to all ages and very dancer friendly (the couple that owns the place are ballroom dancers). During the break they were fine about playing a swing CD (Gabe's Gene Krupa disk this time). The food was good as well. Next time I'll have dinner early to avoid the cover. This is a great place to spend a Friday night. |
| |
sounds like fun Shawn...someone told me they add the cover to your tab though as an entertainment charge if you stay after for the band. not sure though. |
| |
I thought it was otherwise, but I guess we'll find out! |
| |
No more feedback on this? Tami is there this Friday, making for a perfect night! |
| |
How was the turnout on Friday? Thanks! |
| |
Great turnout - I don't think anything else was going on that night 'cos most of the regulars turned up. There were quite a few older couples there as well - Tami played a lot of cha-cha and a waltz or two for them. What a trippy place! Chinese restaurant with disco lights and smoke machine. |

I counted about 35 regulars at one point, and there were some others there, including this old guy who was leading the women into all of these sexy moves. 10 of us went there early for dinner, and it was pretty good food. I'm not sure if I'll go again, though, I'm just not crazy about Tami Thomas. And the cover is steep, and you get it even when you eat there. And you had to buy the water, unless you ate there. But a fun night. |
