It is nice to see that folks still use this website after more than three years. Traffic earlier this year was falling, but May was as busy as ever. Imagine that!

stats

In fact, looking at the table above, as many people are using the site as ever, but they are viewing more pages and downloading more data (pictures surely).

Not so Ian. The "sites" bars reflect unique visitors for the month.

I know a lot of people told me they stop viewing the forum when it gets nasty, so its probably recovered from that a bit.

Ron, your music reviews had 671 visitors last month. Not bad!

Cool. Hardly any of them click through the Amazon.com links, though.

This is so a straight question, pertend it's coming from a stranger.

Why are the amazon links important?

Check the number of hits on Napster after each new set of reviews =)

Cause he gets a little bit of change each time someone buys a CD off of Amazon after clicking threw from his page.

Seems fair. Some day I'll figure out how I can make money with SwingOrama.

Can I pertend to threw up?

Because it seems to me more of a judge of interest if someone actually clicks thru to read about a CD. And not many people click through, so I figure I'm doing my reviews as more of a labour of love than as a great resource that gets used a lot. I do get money if they order, but it records the click thru even if they don't. But its good to know it has good traffic from Shawn's statistics, but some of that may be automatic web crawlers.

Automatic web crawlers aren't included in the stats.

I think SwingOrama is a labor of love for all concerned.

I don't use napster, Michael.
But for that matter, I don't use Amazon or Ron's reviews. I was just wondering. How much money, Ron? Who's to say that Amazon has the best reviews of albums? I'm really asking. I don't know.

Krista...Ron has links in his reviews that go to the Amazon website where the person has the option to buy the CD Ron reviewed...kinda like a referral fee.

I've never purchased anything from Amazon. But, in the past, I've clicked through Ron's links to Amazon because Amazon often has little snippets of the songs on a cd. And since I'm really bad at song titles and such, it's been helpful for me to find a few things.

and if you had bought something, Valorie, you would have been contributing to Ron's nasty drug habit...i.e. he would have gotten money from Amazon...it's called the Affiliates Program and is available to anyone out there!

Yeah, I get 5% I think. I end up making about $15/month. And most of it is from the CDs I personally order. Won't buy a lot of drugs! Amazon.com is my favorite CD vendor, they seem to have the most selection, but CDNow is pretty good, too, they have snippets for more songs, usually.
