Congrats, Andy & Emmy!

But what confounds me is why, on the night of your engagement, at 11:30pm, you are on the computer?? Didn't you two have *anything* else interesting to do??

he he. Come check out the bags under my eyes!! ~8^)

Actually, emmy was really excited to tell her friends... but none were home! :( So, we wanted to post and spread the news. Also, I had told her how I pre-blabbed the news on the web, and was afraid my bigmouth would spoil the surprise, so she wanted to see...

Does anyone have the equipment to create a digital audio file (mpg, wav, etc) from a cassette tape? or, anyone know where you can get this done?

I have some tapes I want to create a CD from, before they wear out!!

You just need a cassatte deck with rca outs and feed it right into your sound card. That's how I created a disk of movie clip audio, only using a VCR instead of a tape deck.

Emmy and I are looking for a place to live (for those who know the "parent's saga"... we're movin' out!)

Does anyone know of a place available, or coming available in the Hillcrest/ Mission Hills/ Balboa Park area?

Musts: enclosed garage
rent < $1400
laundry on site (preferably in unit)

Wants: older charm, hardwood floors, not big complex, maybe freestanding house, sunny, quiet

if anyone is moving out, has a for-rent sign in the neighborhood, etc.. please mail me: goodena@hotmail.com

Wanted:

A velvet rope with stands. You know the kind: the one used to admit people into a club and one with hook or a snap to engage it.

E-mail me if this item can be borrowed for this weekend.

Ohhh, I know what you use velvet ropes for. Duuuuh, obvious.

A DJ Deathmatch! Claymation figures of Ron, Dennis, Meeshi, Chris and Reuben duke it out in a velvet-roped ring.

Great idea, Mike!

Hey--I'm about to call back some companies I sent my resume to, and am trying to put it off without being unproductive in my job search. So I thought about y'all. If anyone (or anyone's company) is looking for a tech writer, I am looking for work, and I'd much rather talk to people I know about that then anonymous human resources people.
hatin' the job search--

Heather, I didn't know you were a techie! What are your fields of expertise, and do you do work on a contractual basis?
Nat

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Heather Hawley (Holee) on Friday, February 16, 2001 - 11:36 am: Edit

nat--
Most of my experience tech writing has been writing instructions for search engines, help sections, interactive games, and ecommerce sections on the website I work for. It wasn't part of my job when I started, but I did it since there wasn't anyone else to write it--and I liked it a lot. I don't have _tons_ of experience--especially with the softare most tech writers use (robohelp, pagemaker, etc) but I think good writing skills make up for that. I've mostly looking for something permanent (read: stable) but I've thought about doing contractual work--I'm just worried that with limited experience it might be hard to get started and pay enough money to make rent.
thanks for the responses, though guys--I love swing dancers. why does job hunting suck so much?

But Sugar pie to get paid for it, really well by the way, is worth it.
-no experience required
-extremely stable and permanent

besides it would be nice to have a dance partner at the station to practice with while working.......hmm getting paid to practice dancing, sounds pretty good.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Heather Hawley (Holee) on Thursday, February 22, 2001 - 10:51 am: Edit

you should just teach a few of your fellow firefighters to dance. then y'all could have a swivel contest, or a slow blues jam. (I'm guessing it's mostly guys in the station). I would PAY to see that--and hey, I live right next ot a firestation, so it would be easy.

he he he he

Very nice pair of LEATHER lace-up shoes. In like new condition. Late 30's early 40's Aprox 8" inside from toe to heel. 3" across the ball (not very narrow). The size is not indicated in the shoe so I'm guessing at the size. The box says size 4 , but they fit more as a 4.5

It's an odd shade of aged green.'Harold Robbins' Embroidered on the inside waist.

I hope you don't mind if I post this here.
Here's a job opportunity for a non-techy who likes the garment industry:
A customer of mine needs a general office/data entry person. The job would also include assisting with light cutting (yes, fabric), jewelry making, shipping and receiving. She's in the bridal industry. Flexible hours , she figures 20-40 hrs a week, and will train. Some PC experience would be helpful. You must be willing and able to work with little supervision. Definitely room for growth in this job. In El Cajon. If you or someone you know is interrested, e-mail me and I'll pass your info on.

Red-HoT Size 7-1/2 Party Pumps
pumps
These are simply adorable, you will feel sooo...raar-raar when you put these on! Shoes indicate they are a 7 1/2 B, but here are the inside measurements anyway:
from inside tip toe to heel is 9 3/4", at inside ball of foot at widest point is 3", the heel is 3 1/2" high measured straight down the back. The front part of the shoe has multiple "dots" cut out in a sort of star burst pattern and allows your foot to breath. These shoes have been worn only a couple of times with the little rubber heel at the bottom not needing any replacing at all - really, plenty of wear to be had in these cuties! A very flirty shoe.
