Beginning Sunday January 19 6-10pm and continuing every month, Swingskool will be in session at Balboa Park's War Memorial building, brought to the community by the San Diego Lindy Hop Society. This first night will kick off with a band (TBA) and there will be a minimal charge to cover the cost. The details are still being worked out.
This will continue once a month on Sunday evenings for practice, videos, mentoring, education, swap shop, sharing...
More details to follow, mark your calendars!

I like the idea about having open space to practice moves and exchanging ideas.

Ha Ha!

Never thought of that!

It also fits with the "school" theme of the SDLHS website (www.sdlhs.com).

Kudos to the SDLHS for working to keep Swing alive in San Diego.
And thanks to ex San Diegans, Chris and Shana for being among the first
people to try to get Lindy connected with the Balboa Park scene. The
International Dance Association at Balboa Park has now added Lindy to their
TV ads.

Is the War Memorial Building that building at the far end of the zoo's parking lot, between Park Blvd. and Zoo Drive, near Roosevelt Jr. High?

The SDLHS is proud to present Candye Kane for our first Swingskool session!

The War Memorial Building is indeed located at at the far end of the Zoo's parking lot. Flyers with maps will be available at the Firehouse and Cafe Savoy; it would be much appreciated if anyone going up to Tia Juana's would distribute some there.
