These guys are pretty good! Aletha and I saw the Friday night show at Robbie's Roadhouse. They played a wide range of music and tempos, including classic swing, jump blues, and rockabilly. And Big Mickey has a big voice.

It's no wonder these guys keep getting booked at the Derby. Mickey tells me that they have adjusted their music a bit for dancers, and it shows as so much was danceable.

FYI - The Roadhouse isn't really ideal for dancing (just close to home). The floors are tile and there's not much room.

Hiya Kids,

Wow I was just heading in here to thank the dancers that showed up Friday night and I see this nice post from Shawn. Thanks you sir for the kind words. I'm glad that you enjoyed our music.

As Shawn mentioned we have adjusted our sound quite a bit from the first time some of you heard us at Neimans. We've added more slow groovin stuff to mix things up a bit and vary the tempos. The line up has changed a little too with the addition of Jamie Tobitt in the trumpet slot. Some of you know Jamie from his time with BTO. Also the addition of Steve Azola on bass has really tightened the sound up. Steve is a quite accomplished player that has a true understanding and love of Jazz. Hey look, don't take my word for it, go have a listen and you be your own judge http://www.jumpjones.com/Sounds.htm

Hope to see ya dancing at a show,

Mike aka Big Mickey
