Sorry to start a new thread on the subject, but we have to change the opening night of the Aubergine to Sunday, Feb. 23rd. Yes, I know it'll be the same night as Swings'kool, but Tertia and I are working things out. More details to come. Gotta run... |

Oh yes, I just updated the Aubergine page. Visit http://aubergine.cafesavoy.com for more info. |

Just to give you the low-down on why we have to change the opening date... The Aubergine had inadvertently "double-booked" their nightclub for Sunday, Feb. 16. About 6 months ago, before we made contact with them, the club managers had committed to renting out their nightclub for a private party on the 16th, and had forgotten about their commitment until last week. They called me as soon as they realized their error. With a little shuffling, we've been able to get Jesse Miner to change his plans and come down the following week, so everything is set and ready to go for Sunday, Feb. 23rd. FYI, the Aubergine has no more private parties scheduled on Sundays in the foreseeable future. |

About the hours... I guess the consensus is that "earlier is better" on Sundays, so we will have the Aubergine start earlier and still end at midnight for late-night barflys and out-of-town visitors. Doors open at 7pm, beginning lesson at 7:15pm, open dancing from 8pm-midnight, sounds like a plan! Stompin' at the Aubergine http://aubergine.cafesavoy.com |

Damn I'm sorry I missed that lil' ole Wrastlin thing in there until tonight, Hmmm, how about Me and Tommy Price go tag team against Mickey and Tim. Now that's a match I could really get into. I wish I'd have had time to prepare so we could have gotten the cage set up in Aubergine. I have to warn you guys though, not only was I a Marine for ten years but I'm a dirty fighter too. I mean, I fight with honor, but it's dirty honor, well maybe it's just a little soiled, like your pants are going to be if you call me scrawny again... The Flying Cheesesteak and the Italian Stiletto are BACK! I decided not to play at Aubergine so that Krista and Lisa might show up. Hell Reuben might even make the trip ;) Aubergine is a very cool venue and one of the coolest aspects of it is that on the same night you guys are cavorting around and swingin' your balls off, the other side is a Hospitality Industry night so you get a chance to expose yourselves (and I know how muych you like to expose yourselves) to a bunch of the people who regularly advise locals and tourists alike on the hapenin' events in San Diego. The Guys at Aubergine are very cool and are definitely supportive of this endeavor; not to mention, the room is spectacular for bands and dancers alike. there is a green room for the more upscale bands and the floor is well maintained. I wouldn't stress the dancers drinking thing so much but I would definitely encourage you folks to bring out as many non-dancers as possible. Hell, let them drink. This is the kind of venue that has a huge potential for converts, you might even get me to dance, but only in my pajamas or my Flying Cheesesteak outfit. Hey Meeshi, since Aubergine has a full restaurant, are they going to be tying in Dinner packages too? Imagine that, Sunday Dinner and Dancing in one of the nicest rooms in the gaslamp. I'm game... Sound like the new Supper Club is here in San Diego, Hmmmmm San Diego Sunday Supper Club Sounds Spiffy DP |
