Hey, I just noticed you guys updated your site, adding a store, or has that been there for a long time? Also, since there is a link to your site from this site, why not return the favor? |
| |
I thought we took care of that. Sorry. This will be fixed. |
| |
Why doesn't the SDLHS refer dancers to the calendar on this website. SDLHS members would probably want to see it. Nice reviews Ron. |
| |
Actually, the SDLHS web site was up long before this one and has always had its own calendar. That won't change. We did have this site referenced, but I really don't know what happened. It'll be fixed. |
| |
Why Does it matter, two different organizations, two different websites. From what I can tell members of the SDLHS also frequent this page. |
| |
But I've found that a lot of the links around the web reference SDLHS's page, since SwingTimeSD's site is so new. It would be nice to have more San Diego site interlinking... |
| |
Glen is right it is a mistake that Swingtime isn't on our page however it should not be viewed as a slight. Shawn was an invited guest to this and our previous workshop. The lack of link is an oversight most likely the result of the fact that SDLHS is not a job for us but a spare time thing. |
| |
Linker? Sphincter! This website rules! |
| |
There is a link to Swingtime on the Calendar page. |
| |
It is funny how SDLHS lists Davis and Patty Wells for classes, but not other popular local teachers. |
| |
Well, it does say on the page that if you have info on other teachers to let us know and we'll add them. No one's ever provided info, therefore, we have nothing to post...Believe it or not, I actually do have a life and don't have time to do thorough research. So, stop complaining and send us some info. sdlhs@angelfire.com |
| |
I don't care who gets listed or linked. But if you want information on Meeshi and Emily's classes, it is easy to find. http://www.SwingtimeSD.com |
| |
So it appears that swingerz is back with a new id. Any particular reason you are so threatened by the SDLHS?? Is it that we volunteer our time to sponsor the least expensive workshops in town, or is it the coming charity event and free events that are being planned? I'm sorry but it just gets frustrating that the members of SDLHS and Swingtime have been freinds since the beginning yet people like swingerz (ZApappY)insist on promoting a rivalry and tension. It isn't there, we have different missions and different area's of focus, that complement each other not compete with each other. Which is why there ar 50 swingtime participants that are also sdlhs members. Meeshi never expressed feeling slighted, why should you? |
| |
Ian, just ignore the random posts! If a stranger walks up to you on the street, gets in your face and tells you you're an idiot, what do you do? Do you smile with the confident knowledge that you are not an idiot and walk away? Or do you stop to argue with the person, needing to defend your intelligence? Just smiling and walking along, Shawn |
| |
The smile of an idiot! |
| |
Cute. What are the "coming charity event and free events that are being planned"? |
| |
I just tell the stranger that they have violated the known laws of physics, then mumble something about Bernoulli flow, Einstein, and relativistic mass. ~8^) (if you don't get it, check the bad day at work section) |
| |
Well the coming charity event is still in the conceptual stage. It is part of our mission statement, but there is nothing to announce at this point, or any comment I can make. In terms of free events, we have one coming up. If I remember correctly it is free to the extent that members are allowed guests. This is not meant to be exclusive, its just that we can only afford to provide food/beverages for a certain number of people. Its standard practic with dues types of clubs, part of how we justify dues. |
| |
We are planning a charity event for next year. It will include dancing, fashion, food and music in which most or all of the proceeds will go to selected charities. Next for members, we are having a holiday dance that will be free, complete with candlelit tables, hors d'oeuvres, sparkling punch, music, and ambiance. That's all that's on the calendar for 1999. 2000 should bring more exciting workshops, events and the charity gala. So far the workshops and dance have more than paid for the membership. Plus we have discounts for shows from $1-3 dollars off door admission. Did you have some suggestions? PS, email me I have some ideas about our (your) event. |
| |
I haven't been to the swing sites in a couple of weeks. I just love those updated links, you SDLHSuperstars! Ron may play slow music, but at least he spoke The Truth. |
