Why can't this forum be more like Yehoodi?

SwingOrama Forum: Site suggestions anybody?: Why can't this forum be more like Yehoodi?

There really are some cool threads on the Yehoodi discussion board. There seems to be people that actually take the time to write a thorough post on a particular topic and many are very interesting. There doesn't seem to be as much bashing and negativity on average. I was just reading the Lindy Goggling thread under Swing Talk topic and it was interesting. And the various discussions about music and DJing... Why can't this forum be more like Yehoodi?

Reasons:

1. Yehoodi censors.

2. Average age on Yehoodi seems to be college-educated or above.

3. People in New York City have way more time on their hands than laid back San Diegans =)

4. New York is a huge city, San Diego is not.

5. Rueben.

6. Reuben.

What's it matter if this site isn't like the Yehoodi site? Why do we have to be the same, that's not original. Maybe our local dancers are tired of the forum and the miscommunication between posts, maybe not? We make it what we want it to be, and obviously we don't want it to be like Yehoodi, or it would be.

All the same, our forum has been on the boring side lately. It seems months ago there would be 22 posts/day (give or take). Recently, there seems to be 1 -2 post / day. Big difference. The only good I see out of this is that I can spend more time working than reading and writing.

That's just my opinion.

Some current topics on Yehoodi:

"Peter Pan and Why I never
want to forsake the Wonderbra "

"WIN A DATE WITH A SWINGIN'
SEVERED HEAD!! "

"Boxers or Briefs? "

Y'all are right. They're way more intellectual over there. Why don't we ever have serious discussions like that!?

The big change here came with IP address posting (in terms of volume). I am working on a killer update to the board that will allow EMAIL reponses to posts. You will post a message, responses will be emailed to you, then you reply and it gets put on the message thread!

I plan to have that in place by May 1. I will also have other fun features enabled...

Ah, but Kate, read the posts under these topics and I dare you not to chuckle!

Why can't this forum be more like JiveJunction?

I don't think we talk nearly enough trash in San Diego. C'mon people, there has to be someone that you think dresses like a freak or dances like a hippo. Oh, and I think we need more gay jokes too. Let's hear it! Anyone, anyone?

[ ok, I admit I've read quite afew intelegent and interesting posts on there too....I just couldn't help myself ; ) ]

HA HA HA HA...

Don't forget the random threads with over 1000 posts each containing only one word.
