A bunch of us went up to see Swing Session at the Derby on Saturday. They are a great jump-blues band from San Francisco. It was a great show! Tight, upbeat jump blues. Great lead singer. Those lucky San Franciscans, so many good bands up there. I play a couple of their songs when I DJ. In fact, maybe I'll feature their CD the next time I DJ... |

Yeah, they are a fun band, and funny stage antics to boot. I wonder why they didn't name their band 'Jump-Blues Session,' since that's what they play. Sure is weird going to the Derby, where one expects to see lots of good LA dancers, yet except for two couples, there were only beginers in the back area or scary older drunk people clogging around on the micro dance floor. |
