So, I heard we had some out of town guests dancing it up at Papa Jacks. Anyone care to elaborate. I want to know what I missed!!!

I heard Catherine (TRHS) was doing a little H-style. Is this true?

Whoa – Papa Jack's was PACKED last night. Last time I went, there were only a handful of dancers. So I assume it's starting to be a regular event?

Oh and thanks to all the wonderful leads I got to dance with:

Meeshi – how I luv to be silly with you
Charlie – eeek! I'm nervous – let’s do the head poke
Jon - Mr. Come-Into-My-Big-Frame, grrr...
Chris - who likes to see how many different surprised expressions I can make :)
Kevin – hey, where’d you go and oh, are we waltzing??
Mark – oooo…I luv this turn!
David - thanks for putting up with me
Greg? - sorry it was the first time I met you and I already forgot your name, but you were great! Can we do it again?

Did I miss anyone? – sorry!

Here I am again with my periodic pop-in just to let you know I'm still alive...

Yeah, swingkitten, Papa's has really become the place to be for us older hoppers. Last night was really fun, with everyone from every swing style coming out of the woodwork and dancing up a storm. After traveling around to other swing communities, I will never EVER take our fun, playful scene for granted.

After Freddie was done, a lot of us went over to Cafe Sevilla next door to do some Brazilian samba dancing. Oh how I love the powerful sound of live drumming. Maybe we can make the Sunday-swing-samba thing a semi-regular event. Have a great week and see you at Steven's workshop this weekend.

Peace, Meeshi

p.s. By the way, there is going to be a dance contest at Papa's on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend (May 30). 1st prize is $100, 2nd prize dinner for two at Papa's. Unfortunately I'm going to be up in SF for Frankie's B-day (as are a lot of you), but if you are in town it should a fun event to check out.

Samba - i don't know how, but would like to learn :) will there be mini lessons included in the sunday-swing-samba thing so us newbies can join in the fun too?
