Juan and I are going to the bay area for 7 days. Does anyone have any suggestions on good places to go dancing?

High Ball and Cafe du Nord are your best bets. Cafe du Nord has a web page with calendar. Also check out the Northern California Lindy Hop Society web page. Their calendar covers the whole region.

For venues hosted and run by dancers, everybody raves about the Saturday night Doghouse as well as Paul and Sharon's 912 (?) club on Thursday night. I believe that the best dancers frequent these two clubs every week.

Hi Cheryl,
7 days in the bay area - I'm so envious! A good place to check for events is lindylist.com - I think they have the most comprehensive and uptodate list of events in SF. Also, check out the "venues" thread on this forum. Several of us have been to SF recently and posted about it there. Try to get to Paul and Sharon's 9:20 Special on Thursday night, the Dog House on Saturday and Lindy in the Park on Sunday morning - they're all great events, well-attended with some of the best dancers in SF. Have fun!

THANKS Shawn, Glenn & Twirly!!
That site (www.lindylist.com) is awesome and with Shawn and Glenn's input it should be easy to "Swing" on by one or more of SF's venues.

I will have to let you know how it goes....but you guys will have to give me a full report on the CAMEROS. I am sad that I am going to miss it!

I thought Mel posted something in the last month or so about her fav dance spots in SF, but I can't find it now. Can someone help me? Also, I can't remember if Lindy in the Park was on her list, but I'd like to get the 411 for that. Doesn't seem to be on lindylist.com.

Thanks!! I had every intention of going to the doghouse tonight, but a full day of walking up and down hills looking at apartments has exhausted my legs and cruelly crushed my dancing aspirations. Maybe Lindy in the Park tomorrow... if I can get out of bed.

oh my does anyone dance at Cafe du Nord anymore? That's the one and only time back in 98 that my friend Gareth took me to see Lee Press on and the Nails. I just remember the band was wearing zoot suits and he was all decked out in makeup or something (the band leader) Crazy memories.
