Here's a chance to really give a gift that has real meaning to someone to whom we all owe a great debt. It seems that a couple of years ago, in a conversation with Sylvia Sykes, Frankie let slip that he has a dream of visiting Africa. He mentioned that when Richard Pryor went, it was a life changing experience. Sylvia wanted to give Frankie an experience that for once he wouldn't have to do anything for. She pointed out that if we want to give Frankie a chance to realize his dream, we'd better do it NOW. She had an idea to ask the Lindy community to pony up the money to send Frankie on a truly first class African vacation for two to show our gratitude for everything he's given us. The projected cost for this first class all the way trip would be $30,000. (Two first class tickets alone cost $20,000). We'll let Frankie decide where in Africa he wants to go, for how long, and with whom. Our idea would be that no individual contribution would be made known, but everyone would give what they could and would be listed on a scroll to go with it; the gift would be from the world wide Lindy community.
We would like to keep this a secret from Frankie, so if you would like to help, please spread the word in your community (among your students) and
