I was just in Seattle for the weekend, and I have to say, if you ever get up there, you should check out the new Experience Music Project. Its basically a rock and roll music museum. Its located on the Seattle center. Its way cool. You can pick up a device that you carry around that has headphones and a display. If you point the device at an exhibit, hit a button, it'll load info on that exhibit and then you'll hear an intro on it on the headphones. You can then hit other numbers and get more info on the parts of the exhibit.

Like, in the guitar section, you can get info on the first commercially successful electric guitars, the Fender Broadcaster and Telecaster. Then you can touch numbers on the keyboard, corresponding to numbers next to the guitars, and hear a short clip of someone playing that exact guitar. Very cool!

There's sections in the museum on the development of Rock & Roll, different sections on different types (punk, etc), sections on key artists (I spent a lot of time at the Clapton section), a place to play instruments, a motion simulation/movie on funk, a picture gallery of Elvis, Beatles, Dylan (with audio commentary from the photographers) the and other stuff.

For music lovers, and I know that includes most dancers, this museum is a must-see!

Hey, I think every city should have a few billionaire philantropists. Seattle's got Paul Allen. And he liked Jimmi Hendrix, so they got a new museum for cheap. You didn't like the museum?
