SwingOrama Forum: Swing Venues: The Flame - Mondays 7pm-9pm

Thanks for the continued support from all the dancers that come out on Mondays! We are having so much fun teaching, thanks.

The schedule for the intermediate 8pm class the next few weeks:

Jan. 8 - More Boogie Woogie
Jan. 15 - Julia and Lisa will be substituting for us. I have business in LA
Jan. 22 - NO CLASS - Dean Mora at Neiman's in Carlsbad
Jan. 29 - Lindyhop
Feb. 5 - Lindyhop

The 7pm beginners class will always be fundamentals!

SPECIAL:
This Sunday, Jan. 7, Shana and I will be teaching at Tio Leos from 6pm-8pm!!! Come out and join us!! 6pm is the beginners' fundamental class, and 7pm is intermediate Lindy! Hope to see some new and familiar faces!

The Flame is happening tonight!! IF you didn't get enough this weekend at the P&S workshop, we hope to see you out tonight! We will be focusing on Lindy Hop tonight with some great partner based dancing.

$5 for both classes and an hour dance after. The first class is always lindy basics at 7pm and at 8pm we have intermediate lindy! See you there.

Swing will be happening at the Flame this Monday as usual. Rob and Tertia substitute for Chris and Shana.

7pm - Beginning Lindy Hop. Moves and styling.
8pm - The Big Apple. Putting all of it to music.

Classes are $5 and there is open dancing from 9-10pm.

If anyone hasn't heard yet Shana and myself will be moving our teaching nights from Monday at the Flame to Sunday at Tio Leos. That's right! Tomorrow night, October 29, will be the last night we are at the Flame. We thoroughly have enjoyed dancing and teaching there, and we appreciate all the people that have gone! We are so thrilled and flattered that two of San Diego's original instructors, Julia and Lisa, have offered Tio Leo's to us! If anyone doesn't already know, Julia and Lisa were two of the original instructors in San Diego, and we took our first Lindy Classes with them at the G Lounge in Ocean Beach. They were the first to bring the LA style into classes, and formed the first group to promote, inform, and preverve Lindy Hop in San Diego - the San Diego Lindy Hop Society.

The future of the Flame is unknown at this time. We have approached a few local instructors about adopting that night, b/c two nights a week is too much for Shana and myself. I will let all know if there will be future instruction for Lindy at the Flame. Thanks for your time.
