Yeah, Lindy Groove is good for Thursdays and Suzy Q's in Westwood for Fridays (they usually have live bands...). I'm from LA, but am actually coming down to San Diego Thursday and Friday. I'm planning on the Firehouse and Cafe Savoy. Are those the best places? -Ryan |

I went to the Lindy Groove the Thursday before the SF exchange. It was really fun. A LOT of people and a lot of good dancers. Although it is in my opinion different in many ways than SD... but unique. A fun place. THere is always Memories up in WHittier too. There is mixed feelings though on the new location. Some like it, others dont. But that goes with all venues right. My best advice is to go everywhere and see what does it for you. |

Ye, With a grand sample of one time at almost every LA dance location: I second "The Lindy Groove". Great dancing, though you should be aware it lives up to its name. I wasn't too impressed with the dancing at the Derby the one time I was there, but a great venue for listening. Suzy Q's seemed to bring out a signficant showing of the elite smooth-style cadre. I loved the dance floor at Memories. |
