Remember! No "Lindy by the Bay" this Saturday, April 7th. (I'm suspending it in order
to support the Carla and Marty workshop. Also, I'm doing the sound for the workshop
and so I couldn't do LbtB anyway! Can't wait to see them tonight at Clayton's!!!) And...
Don't forget about Rob's AWESOME "Dirty Bourbon Band" at Dance North County that
same evening after the workshop.

Next "LbtB" will be Easter weekend on Saturday, April 14th!! (Hey, that's my son
John's birthday!!) Just go to the Swingorama "Calendar" and click on "Lindy by the Bay"
for the "pop up" window with all the details and map.

I'm SO GLAD that the Carla and Marty workshop "bumped" LbtB on Saturday!
It rained all day. Perfect day for a workshop though!

Anyway, weather permitting, we're on for this Saturday the 14th from 3 - 6pm.

LBTB gives folks a great chance to spread the Lindy Love. How should folks let people know about the scene in a way that isn't just about one venue or teacher profiting from the promotion?

Update the Lindy hop info sheet with all the venues and websites and instructors in the local area so its accurate and allows people the oppurtunity to pick and choose where they want to participate in the community.

Chris made up a pretty cool flyer that had a list of the teachers and venues.
Maybe just update that if anything's changed and put that out. I personally don't
care if any teachers put their promotional stuff on a table and push their classes.
We do need a flyer table though. Flyers were getting put under the red cones,
which will not hold them during a gust of off shore breeze. So, my request would
be that if a teacher brings flyers, bring your own table on which to display them
and some good sized rocks, paper weights, etc. to keep them secure.

Gabe! I found my LbtB CD that you made for me!!! It was inside the jacket!
Don't ask me why I thought it was missing. Maybe it was, and God put it back!
Anyway, I love it!!! It's loaded with great, danceable "swing music"!!! This Saturday
I want to just let it run for awhile! Thanks again. You've got great taste in music.

If I bring my own table, can I display my 40's summer hawiianna wedgies, resortware, and white summerbucks, Jeff?

Is the land actually the property of the Hilton or is it public? I gues if it's Hilton, you'd have to clear it with them.

Uh, Jeff, if its the same CD I got from Gabe, it averages 168 BPM. Let it run for a while and it'll kick all of our lazy San Diego asses.

Are you a big-Pawed gal Melbie?

Nancy...bring 'em on down!!! Let's try it out. We gotta get Krista to come join us.

Nat...it's not exactly Hilton property, but it's within their "use area". One table
of shoes/clothes should be fine if it's done without the big "SALE" signs, etc.

Ron....the CD Gabe gave me averages about 145-155 with one or two up around
190. It's very danceable and perfect for the Bay thing.

I would call that normal.

Size 6 is normal... oh wait, you're talking about shoes aren't you.

I consider size 8 and up "Big Pawed".
I do have some 8's and 9's

You know Nancy....not everyone is as tiny as you. I am...probably for the first time...siding with Nat on this one...

hee hee...Im just kidding. Could really care less, just want some cool shoes. But then again...I am a starving student, maybe all I can really do is window shop. :(

I will trade wedgies for web design services.
Muwahhhhhhh....

Ok, Americans must have tiny feet then. In the UK a size 6, which is a US 8.5 is the average.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Spawn of Satan (Melbamoose) on Wednesday, April 11, 2001 - 04:25 pm: Edit

no, no...that is average, Nat. Nancy is just below average. Hee hee hee.

Anyway, it's all height proportional. If I had smaller feetsies, I'd blow over in high winds.

Hey Jeff,
What are we going to do if it rains this Saturday?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Jeff Eldridge (Jeff) on Thursday, April 12, 2001 - 10:44 am: Edit

It is supposed to be beauuuuuutiful this Saturday. But if
it is raining, it would be cancelled. We could call folks on
the "Impromtu Event Lindy Phone List" that I'm compiling
now to get a dinner or something together. Inside the Hilton
restaurant they do have a wood floor.....hmmmm!!! I'll talk to
the manager about dancing in there to a small boombox, if
we buy dinner and spend a few bucks on drinks, etc.
