Okay, so the thread title is an overstatement, but I still think the floor at Clayton's is getting really bad. If it isn't directly because of us A) dragging the furniture around all the time and B) dancing on it all the time, then I know for sure that those things don't help it. Wouldn't it be nice if the floor could get patched up, if not replaced? Problem is, even patching is pretty dang expensive and I doubt Clayton has the dough for that, and even if he did, he could probably care less. I was thinking that it might help if we put out a "Clayton's Floor Fund" donation box at the entrance. If everyone gave an extra buck or two when they came out, we might have enough within a few months to pay for the floor to be repaired. I don't know, maybe this is a dumb and/or impossible idea. But one of these days that floor is going to really mess someone (or someshoe) up. Thoughts? |

I think that's a fantastic idea. Do you know how much it costs to fix a floor? Maybe if you find out it wouldn't actually be so bad. DP |

This is a really good idea... |

Run it by Meeshi. The floor certainly needs repair. |

Run it by Clayton first. You're probably talking about him closing up shop while the floor gets ripped-up, relaid, vanished and has time to harden. If he says yes, I'd then get an estimate of time and cost. |

I've been expecting that Clayton will have to fix it one of these days, or someone might get injured... But you are right, it may be expensive. |

Well, the reason I mentioned running it by Meeshi, even though it's Clayton's, obviously, was to find out the long term plan of Clayton's as a swing venue. And it is Meeshi's venue. He should be the one, in my opinion, who approaches Clayton on this issue. They can work it out and let us know if we can help. But the floor does need work, that's for sure. |
