Hey all....I'm a displaced Carolina shag girl who moved to Texas and got hooked on Lindy in Houston . I'll be in San Diego Thursday night (Feb 7) and have heard that the Firehouse is the place to go. I'll be staying at the Bristol Hotel and was hoping I could catch a ride with someone. I have NO clue about where the Bristol is relative to the Firehouse; I'm hoping it's not terribly out of the way.... Let me know if someone's willing & able to be a chauffeur!!! Thanks |

Hey, Jamie! I loved dancing in Houston! Do you dance at the Melody Club? Or were you at the Great Southwest Lindy Fest? I know many other San Diegans who have enjoyed dancing with Texans before. E-mail me next week if you need a ride. Looks like Bristol Hotel is in the Gaslamp District. -Hop "Enron's in Houston, right?" Michael mmhwang@yahoo.com |

Jamie, I'll offer, but wouldn't be able to pick you up until 10 at the earliest, with an ETA of 10.30 (Firehouse kicks off at 9.30). If you don;t get a better offer, I'm more than happy to chauffeur you (especially since the Houston peeps have always been more than friendly when I've been over there). E-mail me if you need that ride and I'll give you my phone number): natalie_g_roy@yahoo.com |

Ah, HopMicheal pipped me to the post. |

The Bristol Hotel isn't actually in the Gaslamp, though it is downtown. It's on First Ave., near the Civic Center/San Diego Concourse. |

Hey guys, Yep, I dance at the Melody Club....I wasn't here for last year's Lindy Fest but I'm going to this year's! Since I actually live in College Station, it takes a good hour and a half plus to get to Melody Club; but it's the closest dance venue we've got--so we haul up there at least once or twice a week! Can you say 'hard core dance junkies'? And, everyone, I'll be getting a ride from Valorie (thanks!). Thanks for the ride offers--you guys are great......I know I'm gonna have fun next week... Jamie |

Dan Wallach, another Houstonite, will also be in town this week (Wed through Sat). |
| |
had a great time at the Rocket last nite. Ron- DJ'ing was outta site.. i was in a groovy mood and you threw some groovy 'tude. |
| |
Erm.. would that be Firehouse? |
| |
well, the rest of us were at the firehouse last night, but no one 'really' knows where andy was. |
| |
that loud rumbling sound you heard earlier was, indeed, my brain farting. |

Thanks for letting me "Shesty Hop" with you guys at the Firehouse on Thursday. What's shesty hop, you ask? That would be: carolina SHag, wEST coast swing, and lindY HOP. Alas, I can't take credit for that swing dance smush--Houstonite Leah coined that term for what it seems like we've been dancing lately in Houston! Susan, you are one heck of a good Carolina Shag follow! Keep shaggin'.... Thanks for showing me the sights and sharing some dances.....hope to see some of you at LindyFest! Jamie |
| |
Jamie, it was nice to meet you. See you at LindyFest. |
| |
Thanks, Jamie! It was nice meeting you and I had a lot of fun dancing with you at the FH. Too bad there aren't any shaggers in town! |
| |
Jamie, You can shesty-hop me any day; thanks for the dances! See you at the Great Southwest Lindy Fest! |
