Doug's workshop is THIS COMING WEEKEND! Go see him dance Tuesday or Friday and you'll be sold. |
| |
So who's going tonight? |
| |
Rhonda from San Francisco will be there! So will I. Jeff |

AT THE ROCKET IN SEPTEMBER FunShop Hour 8-9pm! $5 Jazz Movement Routines with Jim & Margie FIRST) A Great All-Levels Jazz Routine direct from Steven Mitchel! It's fun, simple, and beautifully phrased. Everyone will enjoy and benefit from it as we get into the music and really feel it! (We'll probably run this one 2-3 weeks) SECOND) To be followed by the famed Tranky Doo! We just spent time learning it with Viola from Seattle and are bringin' it home to SD! Lots of Classic Swing Jazz steps in this one will help your dancing all around! (Again 2-3 weeks) To be better partner dancers, we must connect with the music and learn to express it better on our own. That way we communicate more of our joy to our dance partners! Long live Dance! See you at the Rocket at 8pm! questions: call us 619-291-3775 |

So, who's dj'ing this Tuesday? |
| |
I noticed that the calendar is missing a map to the Rocket Swing Club. Is that correctable. |
| |
I'd just like to post a continuing thank you to the follows who let me experiment on them with my lead (special thanks go out to those who experienced my first time balboa lead at the mini workshop last night). Please, please, please, any feedback on my leading will be most welcomed, I need to kick this this up a notch. Nat |
| |
This has nothing to do with your lead, which has improved greatly since the last time i "experienced" it, but you have really nice perfume. What is it? |
| |
See, Nat!! I told you!! |
| |
Yes! I'm not used to dancing with someone who smells that good! (Not to denigrate the other leads... you smell fine.) And, your lead is good too, Nat. (Must be the frequent sacrifices to the Lindy Gods.) Katherine |
| |
Ususally in the evening I wear Dolce Vita, by Christian Dior, but that evening I might have been wearing my (usually) daytime scent, which is Allure, by Channel. Maya, it was great to dance with you again. You're always so much fun. I'm going to be doing some official work on my lead in the next couple of months, as I want to be capable of showcasing the follow more, and giving her more room to play. Nat |
| |
Thanks to all the guys who gave me fabulous dances on my little visit to San Diego--Kermit, Rich, Jeff, Jim, et al! I miss you all so much. Hopefully soon I'll be getting to the Twin Cities for some quality dancing. Thanks again--I had so much fun. I didn't realize how good I had it in San Diego until I moved out here...sniff, sniff... |
| |
It was so good to so you and your sister, Dorian, again at the Rocket! Sorry you couldn't stay in town longer. It will be nice to have you home for the holidays! Ask Theresa to drop us a line and let us know how things are going in Colorado! |
| |
Hope you leads are out in force at the Rocket tonight. There'll be a whole handful of follows who need their post-exchange blues soothed. Nat |
| |
Thank you Jeff, Kermit, Jeremy and Quint for the healing dances last night. |
| |
Thanks for the good wishes Jeff. By the way, my sister's name is Lorien. It's from The Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien. |
| |
Jeremy did a great job DJ'ing last night. Perhaps having such a nice wife as Michelle gives him inspiration for his musical selections. btw: I am looking forward to hearing Cool Blue, Sue Palmer and the Swingin' Kings all on the same night. What a jam that will make. |
| |
Thanks! If you are a follow, feel free to ask me to dance when I'm DJing. Sometimes it's hard to get a follow because by the time I get the CDs queued up, everyone's already on the floor. Also, if you ever have a song you want to hear, or if you think I'm playing too much fast/slow stuff, just let me know. I'll try to accomodate you as best I can. |
| |
Ditto. Great job last night, Jeremy! Btw, you and Michelle have the look I'm going for and you're getting better every week. The married couples, and those who partner up regularly, make lots more progress than others, I'm noticing. This dance takes work to look right. |

Hey everyone, this tuesday at the Rocket I will be DJing, and I have worked out a hilarious play list. I normally don't make playlists, I usually just pick stuff out of the CD case at random. But I had a cool idea for a unique playlist, and worked it out this afternoon. Come on by tuesday and see if you can figure out what the heck I'm doing (it isn't that hard.) |
| |
A-B-C? |
| |
? |
| |
Okay, maybe "hilarious" isn't the best description. "Mildy amusing" would probably be better. . . . . Okay, that might be stretching it too. |
| |
Ye Dancer, don't go into marketing. I'll be storming the DJ booth for a dance, if that's alright. |
| |
I'll be waiting for you to ask. Don't worry. I was just so psyched about my idea that I had to blab about it. I'll probably find out that it's been done hundreds of times or someting. Oh well. |
