Lindy: Nature's Prozac |
| |
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the awesome dances last night, I really enjoyed that venue! Hopefully I'll see most of you again at Lindy by the Bay if its going on again this saturday. -Michele (that tall girl with the white hair) |

Thanks Jeremy for the fun dances.. and I'm proud to say to the rest of you that if you pester him enough while he's DJing, eventually he'll dance with you to shut you up. (LOL) Also thanks to Chance for the goofy dance(s), you reminded me of Sosh - and I told him that. But I must say last night when I was dancing with Natalie... I had the most fun! She showed me how much I need to work on my follow - thanks! And one more thank you: Thank you Susan for driving and letting me carpool with you - glad we made it safely. (j/k) That's it for me - Happy Friday, I'm going home now that the FedEx guy came. |

Great night at the Firehouse! Must have been 100 people there, and 50 were there at midnight, so I went late. Thanks for coming out everyone, I really enjoyed djing for you... Lindy San Diego put on a great performance, and really turned out the crowds to watch them... |
| |
last nite was awesome. now, dat's what i'm talkin' 'bout! |
| |
I had such a great time! It was the first evening in a while where most of my dances made me scream! (I use screams per evening as an gauge.) Talk about excitement! And the performance by LSD was awesome! |
| |
THANK YOU to all the leads out there who jumped in to dance with me during the birthday jam. It was as fun as I hoped it would be (when I thought about it in September) ... yes, I have to say that ever since I saw a birhtday jam, I was determined to improve so much that I would not make a fool of myself - or even be lost. So, actually I thank all the patient teachers and leads who've put up with my learning in the past 7 months. Next year, I'll be able to lead. |
| |
hey gals- there will be a visiting lead from boston at the firehouse this thursday. his name is dave zucker...you should all come out and meet him. he's tons of fun to dance with and i'm sure he would appreciate a good welcoming. (he's got short curly hair and glasses) hope to see you all there! |
| |
Dave, thank you for the dances last night...you are awesome! I hope you have to build underwater robots in San Diego again soon. |
| |
Did anyone else have a particularly good time at the Firehouse last night? I did! I had no particular reason to be in a good mood going in, but I sure was going out. Its good that I can still find enjoyment in DJing and dancing, because I sometimes I feel a bit burned out. I had a special jam, leading to a snowball for all the dance students of Tan and Valerie. Without those guys the Firehouse would be a pretty empty space! I played a jazzyish countryish bluegrassish song by Rani Arbo, called "Limo to Memphis" which I asked if people liked, and people did, so I'll play it more. Thanks to Lorien for loaning me the CD! |
| |
...and there's a "new" lead coming out again - his name is Keith and he's a fun dancer. I think he said he's been dancing several years [it made my night that he asked me to dance before leaving] |
| |
For those that care, I won't be DJing tonight at the Firehouse, I'll be (briefly) out of town in LA for the day/night. I'm not sure who Meeshi found as a substitute, or if he's doing it himself, but I'm sure it will be fine music. |
| |
It sure will since you won't be here, he, he, he, he. Open door, must go through it. |
| |
So Ron, saw you lurking around Lindygroove last night. Have fun? Enjoy the DJ? Personally I love Greg and think he rocks. His variety is awesome and always has something new to hear. Didn't want to sit the whole night despite the pulled tri-cep muscle, two applied knee braces and a twisted ankle at the very end. It was sooo worth it! Nice to see some SD ers make their ways up here. Always a good time to be had at LG I've found. And thanks to Chance and Mel for coming up last Thursday, that made my night! Hope you guys had fun! |
| |
Yeah, I was in Burbank for the day, so I made it a full day. I like Lindygroove. Driving back to SD at 11:45 really really sucks, though. Greg was pretty good, a few too many groovy tunes for my taste maybe, but in general a great mix. He played a few great tunes that I have to get now. |
| |
Hey all, I just wanted to say that everyone should come to the Firehouse this Thursday! It's going to be a blast, and we should go out to eat after it's over. It'll be fun. I have already talked to some people from North County, and they're coming!! See ya there |
| |
Sounds good. It could be a really fun night if we all go. Is anyone going to Champion BR this Sat. night? |
| |
I'm hoping your clock is wrong Rhonda. 4:25am? You gotta stop eating those coffee grounds! |
| |
When we all got back from Catalina, Rhonda went straight to Children's hospital to work an "all nighter"! But it was worth it, right, Rhonda? |
| |
You don't want to miss this Thursday at the Firehouse. I haven't been DJing for a month, and I have a ton of great new stuff to play. I have that great version of "Fever" that Jeramie played Saturday night at the exchange. I have a couple songs that Jessie played when he was here a couple months back. I have some great upbeat early rock and roll by Little Richard, and some new songs by other 50's R&B artists. I have some great new slow groovy jazz songs, where I've edited out the bass/drum solos to make them more fun to dance to and shorter. Its been a while since I've had this much good new stuff, so come on out! I think I'm getting a cold, but I intend to drag myself there to DJ no matter what. |
| |
you too, Ron? I couldn't make it to All Things Swing last night because I was feeling so miserable. |
| |
Ron's got the post exchange lurgy. Who've you been kissing Ron? There's also the possibility that there's a performance at the Firehouse on Thursday. |
| |
How were you feeling Monday night at Neiman's? You danced with me like you were feeling 110%!!! Your dancing was so on fire, Beth. Thanks for 2 GREAT dances. |
| |
I have a sore throat and a light headed feeling, always signs (for me) that I'm coming down with something. Maybe I'll fight it off.. No kissing, alas, just exchange of germs via the hands, I suppose. At Catalina, I did a swing rueda class that filled the Casino. I figure a swing rueda has got to be one of the best ways to share germs ever invented... A new partner every 15 seconds or so... |
| |
Hey Ron, Do you have and could you play: Love Me or Leave Me, the Sammy Davis Jr. version. It is a kick butt song with a lot of energy. Thanks PS - If you don't have it you could listen to it on amazon and I could bring you the CD. I really want to dance to that song. Looking forward to your DJing. |
