Okay...I'd like to get LBtB up and running on a regular basis again. (Oh, how I wish we'd had it today!!! So beautiful. Must have been close to 80 degrees at the beach). But, I need some helpers. The past two weeks I would have had it but my son, Jordan, has had tournament baseball games on Saturday. I need folks to help out when I can't make it and to cover for me if I have to leave for awhile. Any volunteers? If you have a van or station wagon, SUV, or the like it would help. Thanks, Jeff |

Hey everybody, I just wanted to let you know that there is a new summer schedule for LBtB. You'll not have to wonder if it is or isn't happening this summer. And there are some new improvements: the same old free dance will include a free lesson with many of San Diego's best instructors, and the tunes will be continually spun by SD's top DJs!!! The lesson will be from 3-4pm every saturday. The dance will officially run from 4-7pm every saturday, except the third saturday of the month. Because of the wonderul Champion Ballroom dance LBtB will end at 6pm on the third Saturday of the month. In the past, on a non-third Saturday, "Late Night" Lindy By the Bay has lasted until the Sea World fireworks light up the sky! Lindy By the Bay is San Diego's Summer Swing Hotspot!! Here is the instructor's schedule: May 11: No lesson-Jenna's Birthday Party!!! May 18: No lesson-San Diego Exchange Party!!! May 25: Lesson with Jeff Eldridge June 1: Lesson with Billy and Susan June 8: Closed for Catalina June 15: Lesson with Chance and Mel - Champion Dance June 22: Lesson with Chris and Shana June 29: Lesson with Chance and Mel July 6: Lesson with Jim and Margie July 13: Lesson with Tan and Valerie July 20: Lesson with Chris and Shana - Champion Dance July 27: Lesson with Jim and Margie August 3: Lesson with Emily Belt August 10: Lesson with Tan and Valerie August 17: Lesson with Billy and Susan - Champion Dance August 24: Lesson with Meeshi August 31: Lesson with Emily Belt September 7: Lesson with Meeshi September 14: Final Lesson with Jeff Eldridge So bring a lawn chair, dance, and/or listen to some good music while you sit in the sun. This is going to be sooooo cool!!!! Thanks so much Chance for coming up with this GREAT IDEA and setting up the teachers and DJ's for each week! What a great way to get a sampling of ALL of San Diego's best teachers. (fyi...Chance has been working on this for a few months now and has worked hard to set up all these dates with the teachers and DJ's, so BIG KUDOS to you, Bro). And, yes, there will still be "Late Night LBtB" as the nights get warmer and longer, and as there's an interest for people to stay and have a "LBtB After-Dance", with Sea World Fireworks!!! Starting May 11th, the next LBtB, I could use some "able bodies" to help me get the equipment down to the boardwalk. The Hilton will no longer allow any cars on the concrete because of the weight. I'm hopeful the maintenance guys will help me with their golf-cart type vehicles, but even if they do, we'll still have to transfer the equipment from my car to their carts and down to the water. So if you can help, show up 2:30 at the Hilton registration area. (Chris, the really cool guy that blows away all the sand after each LBtB, and completely cleans up after us, has said he'll help with his "golf" cart type vehicle, so afterwards is covered. I just don't know about Rafael who's on when I get there at 2:30pm. He's not as outgoing and friendly. Btw...we really should do something cool for Chris. That guy has cleaned up after us every LBtB for almost two years. I pay him $25/night, but he deserves something special. Got any ideas?) Thanks! Jeff |
