Me too. |

Nope never mind, car broke and is stuck in the shop. New brakes needed and new alarm. Lame! I so wanted to be there... If anyone sees a couple named Mike and Olivia, (tall Asian guy and shorter hispanic woman) tell them I said hi. |

LBtB is NOON to 4PM this Saturday for the "SWING BREAK" SD LINDY EXCHANGE. I repeat! This Saturday, May 18th, "Lindy by the Bay" will be from 12 noon until 4pm, (maybe 5"ish"). There's a barbeque too! For complete "SWING BREAK" San Diego Lindy Hop Exchange info, go to: www.swingorama.com/exchange |
| |
Be sure and bring some grub, 'cause we will not be providing any food, only the grills! |
| |
I was kind of wondering about that... |
| |
How about condiments and plates? Cutlery? Napkins? |
| |
Hey wait a minute... Didn't they take your computer away from you at work Amy? |
| |
Ha ha! I snuck into the office at lunch time! |
| |
Hey i was wondering. Are the new lessons for LBTB, lessons for people who already lindy hop? or the bystanders who have never danced before? i mean i'll show up either way, but just to know if its beginner or "not-beginner" lessons, heh---David |
| |
It's beginner oriented, unless there aren't any beginners. We'll just accommodate whoever shows up. And, yes, the new summer hours are here: 3-7pm with a lesson at 3pm, with San Diego teachers rotating each week. See "April 30th" post above on this same thread for the line up. |
| |
David, Beginning lessons are always good for EVERYONE. Mel and I are working on the basic step right now because after all this time that is still the most important part of the dance. I think it would be helpful for you to learn lots of different basic steps from different teachers. Then you can make your own out of them; that's what we're doing right now. So come and bring some friends. I really enjoyed the Kevin and Carla workshop, especially the beginning sections. ;) See you there, Chance |

Hey is anyone going to be nearby UCSD on Saturday before Lindy by the bay? I was wondering if there was anyone who would like to give a young rapscallion of lead a ride to LBTB this saturday. Basically it is my goal starting now that I go dancing any possible chance i get... hehe, but i don't have a car, i will this summer though. So if anyone is in the neighborhood, and has space in their car email me or call me at (858)243-1328. thanks in advance, maybe---David |
| |
Just a reminder...There IS LBtB this Saturday the 25th from 3 to 7pm, with a lesson at 3pm, being taught by me. See ya there. The weather should be nice! |
| |
YEA! |
| |
Maybe if I was a girl i would get a ride...---David |

I just realized that tomorrow half of San Diego will be heading to the beach! Parking may be difficult. Even the Hilton employees are not allowed to park in the Hilton lot. Only guests and tennis club members (that's me). So car pool if you can. There's usually plenty of street parking in front of the Hilton and in the public lots on the north and south sides of the Hotel. Good luck! David, I'd help if I could. Jordan has two All Star games tomorrow in Mira Mesa, one at 11 a.m. and another at 5 p.m. I'll be setting up LBtB at 2pm (in between games) in time for it to start at 3pm. Jeff |
| |
thanks anyways... i'll, uhh.. dance in my room, spare myself the misery of disapproving follows (for just cause too!)---David |
| |
David, give me a call on my cell phone. I can easily pick you up at the gas station at Villa La Jolla Drive and La Jolla Village Drive between 1:00 and 1:30 on the way back from Jordan's game. You could help me set up! And you could participate in the lesson. If no one shows up for the lesson, you get a free private! Jeff 619.339.7117 cell (Just realized I posted this under 'Catalina' earlier, sorry.) |

Crap!... man if I didn't wake up at 6pm today, i could have gotten this message. HAHA (note to self - sleep more than once every two days) Thanks anyways Jeff, I would have loved to help. I'll be there next week. And during the summer, if you ever need help setting up I can do that, because i'll have a car this summer. ohhhh yah---David |
| |
I'm setting up LBtB again today, Sunday!!! It'll be all set up by 1:00pm, and go until around 7:30 or 8:00. Bernie, the roller skater's battery went dead, and he's got swing CD's he's made, so I'm going down to help him out. You'll be dancing with the skaters and there will not be sand put down to dance on, but, heh, it'll be like Lindy in the Park in SF. Join us if you can make it. Jeff 619.339.7117 cell |

I usually check the message board like an infection... just not this weekend. Not in time , oh well.---David PS- how were both days? |
| |
I had a great time both on Saturday and Sunday. Bernie played some awesome tunes which we all enjoyed. Jenna and I danced for a few passer-byers who begged us to dance because Bernie told them that we were great. We also had a blast doing some crazy MadLibs. It was a weekend of Fun in the Sun! Hope everyone else enjoyed their weekend as much as I did. |
| |
Me, too! |
| |
This Saturday, June 1, Billy and Susan are scheduled to teach the lesson! And I heard the weather should be beauuuuutiful tomorrow. Remember, new hours are 3 to 7pm, with the lesson at 3pm. Call me if you have questions: 619.339.7117 Jeff |
