Hello Everyone,
Sometimes in our small circle of friends, someone needs our help. Steve White is one of the finest blues musicians, singer/songwriters, and people in the local music community. He was recently diagnosed with throat cancer. He had his surgery 9/26 is recovering well and will start Radiation Treatments on 11/9. ``As you can imagine, the cost of this medical treatment on top of not being able to make a living performing is a major problem.
Chet Cannon has organized a benefit for Steve, to be held this Saturday at Tango Del Rey. It would be outstanding to see as many of you as possible at this event to help support Steve. Many great bands starting at 4pm . Tom Essa and I (from the Mississippi Mudsharks), Joey Harris (The Mentals/ The Beat Farmers), and Blues harp extraordinaire Billy Watson will be performing as...

Fort Guijarros Museum Foundation 2nd Annual SWING DANCE

The Fort Guijarros Museum Foundation is holding the Second Annual World War 2 Type Swing Dance on November 14, 2009 at Naval Base Point Loma from 7-11:00 pm.
The Swing Dance is a fund raiser to help support the museum in historical research and educational programs concerning the history of Ballast Point and Point Loma.
The location is a 1919 U.S. Army gymnasium converted in 1940 to a theater and dance hall on Fort Rosecrans, now a National Register Historic District.
Guests are encouraged to dress up in 1940s civilian or Armed Forces costumes, just like the old USO dances held to sell War Bonds.
Music will be provided by Big Band Entertainers, which includes a 14-piece brass and string band.
Active members of the Armed Forces with military ID and their date can get in for the reduced price of $15 each.

Yes, you heard me right, Steve Wilcox (lead guitarist of Sue Palmer's Motel Swing and the Swingin' Kings) is joining Shay La Vie (singer Whitney Shay and pianist Irv Goldstein) tomorrow night to make it a hot, swingin' trio for our *OCEAN'S ELEVEN* 11/11 Swing Dance Party.
Swing Classes from 7-8p. DJed music from 8-10p. Dizzy with a Dame performs at 9:30p. Surprise Cameo Appearance from 10-10:15p. The Shay La Vie Trio plays from 10:15-11:30p.

Come celebrate my birthday *Rat Pack* Style this Wed. 11/11 at the Firehouse. This is an *Ocean's Eleven* theme party, so I invite you all to dress vintage 60's Vegas or like one of Sinatra's Rat Pack. It really doesn't matter what you wear as long as you LOOK MONEY! We've got jazz standards and swingin' tunes made famous by the Rat Pack from DJs Carl and Steven from 8-10p, then dance to the ultra-suave sounds of San Diego's newest Jazz combo, Shay La Vie, from 10:15p-11:30p. In honor of my Birthday, there'll also be special dance performances from Dizzy with a Dame and a Surprise Cameo Appearance at 10p that you won't want to miss!

Show up solo or with a partner- either way you'll have a great time THIS Friday, Nov. 6th & next Fri, Nov. 13th at Blue Bella, San Diego's longest-running blues/soul/dance venue. It's a good mix of all kinds, sometimes even a little funk, & tangoey blues.
Nov 6th: Guys are treating us nice tonight!!
Ronan is teaching his style of blues during the class 9:00-9:30.
Brick then Vaughan will be DJ'ing, ~9:45pm- 12:30am...
Look for Kristin, a green-eyed red head to take your cover:
$3.00 dance + class (must be in class by 9:15 to be fair to the others)
$5.00 check out the dance & music, no class.
